Hi, I am not a shopper, and when I need something I just like to go out and buy it? You know? not look much just get in the store, find what I need and leave.......LOL
So my question to you folks is this?
I need towels, and washcloths.........What is your favorite name brand, and where did u purchase them?
I could also use some new pillows, does anyone have a favorite?
Target has some really nice ones that have held up very well. They are nice and plush and absorbant. They put them on sale so just watch for the sales.
I agree with Momof2dfw, Target is a great place to hook up with towels n' stuff. If you thought about sheets, Tuesday Morning is TERRIFIC for high thread count sheets for very little money. I got 800 tc Egyptian Cotton sheets there for a queen-sized bed for $55 and have bought several sets as I've run across the bargains. Anything above 350tc feels awesome when you slide into bed...keeps you warmer too . I also went to Bed & Bath or whatever it's called before my parents came to stay with me in June. I needed a shower curtain and the gigantic fluffy absorbant cotton bathtowels for the guest bathroom, so I went in there and bought a bunch of them on sale. Still, overall, Target is my first choice for any household product and I don't buy by brand, I touch them and buy what feels good.
I totally agree with you about Kohls, and Target but wondering if there is a certain brand name of towel u get thats better than the others......LOL
The Kohls, is very far away and the Target is on my way home from work, so I would more than likely hit the Target. Are any of Targets towels worth their price? or just maybe go with a middle of the road cost wise that is usually the wisest choice.
I get anxiety when I go shopping and don't like being in there too long!!

That's how I shop for towels and sheets. Just walk down the towel aisle and feel each towel. You don't have to spend a lot to get a good, soft absorbant towel.

I totally agree! If it feels good, you know when you step out of that shower that that towel is gonna give you a big hug!

Especially that extra big towel, like you mentioned, (bath sheets?), and it's fluffy from a fresh washing, and it's a little bit cool in the bathroom, in the wintertime. Boy, does that feel nice! "Big hug" is a nice description.
I do less and less shopping in Wal-Mart, because I have found that I like the variety and quality of the merchandise in Target much better. In fact, I like the way they have the store set up. They are building a Super Wal-Mart a couple of miles from me, but I wish it was Target, instead. The one good thing about Wal-Mart, is that they carry hunting and fishing equipment, (much of it made in the US), and Target does not, for whatever reason, although they do have some camping gear. Of course, I can also go to Academy Sports for said equipment, but that's about 25 miles from us.
So, back to Topo's original question...I would say the same. Check out the towels, by picking them up. "Get a feel for them". (Sorry, couldn't resist. ). I don't buy brand either. It's whatever feels good to the touch. Soft and fluffy. High thread counts on sheets, as high as one can afford. Pillows, I don't buy brand on those, either. I usually buy a mid-priced one. I usually can't afford the more expensive ones, but it is pointless to buy the cheap ones. This is a case where you get what you pay for. Buy something that has good loft to it; that has a decent amount of fill to it. If you pick down pillows, (which I like, but I'm very picky about them), spend the extra money, or don't bother, because the cheaper ones will have larger, more sticky feathers in them, which are very uncomfortable! I also tried a memory foam pillow, once. Didn't like that, either. It was stiff and uncomfortable; didn't yield well to my head. Actually gave me headaches.
I get all of my towels from JCPenny.
Same with pillows. I have yet to find a favorite. I saw a new one that is normal on one side and memory foam on the other side but they were out of them at the time. My husband likes the big hunk pillows.
I looked at the tag on the last ones I bought at Target that I really like and they are Fieldcrest Luxury. I also have bought some for my kids at Kohls that are Laura Ashley that are really thick and plush.
