I was surprise to say the least but knew that some day it may happen.

Thomas Beatie, is one of the few trans gendered men to become pregnant. Was born a woman but presently halted undergoing hormonal changes to become a man.
Proved it wasn't a hoax on oprah.

If you are born a woman, then you are a woman.

I wonder what the practical affect on the child will be when their mom is unrelated and the father is also the mother. This sounds like it might play well in the appalachians, but in mainstream America the kid is going to be a punching bag in the public eye and at school.

Waaah? I'm confused. What's wrong with a person using the uterus they have? Another thing... her religious beliefs have no bearing on the fact that what Mr. Beatie is doing - is LEGAL.

How? I don't see how this is messed up. She's genetically a woman and therefore is pregnant with a child. Hopefully this child will be brought up with love and care - and to not be so judgmental of others and their situations.

Just because Mr. Beatie delivered doesn't mean that Mrs. Beatie can't be put on the Birth Certificate as the mother.

So when someone thinks this is wrong they are judgemental??? It doesn't mean I would be hateful to the person, I just think it is MORALLY WRONG. That doesn't mean someone is judgemental! Why do so many people (like yourself) get that confused??

And personally I think it is very warped - the person is obviously very confused and admitted that.

I am not sure where the quote came from, but I too and confused where the religious implication comes in. God granted the womb and the sperm and this individual is fulfilling a role that God gave him the ability to accomplish. I see nothing morally wrong with him giving birth.

I see serious issues with the mental welfare of the child, however, being raised under these circumstances. If that was what the quote was referring too, I could go along with it in that aspect. It does seem that the quoted poster was not thinking in that vein when they suggested adopting a child from an orphanage.

The quote came from the second article. I was commenting on that piece of the article.

Whether they adopt a child or he delivers the child has no bearing on anything. The end result is the same - two parents who love their child.

Making the statement that this is morally wrong is being judgmental. The dictionary definition is: "Inclined to make judgments, especially moral or personal ones".

Is that not what we are all doing as posters responding to the story?
