Has anyone done this temporarily to save money til that first check? I'm an outdoors guy and honestly think I'd be fine with this as a possible situation. Maybe you're able to afford actual temp housing , but you a challenge or just want to be thrifty at first. Some people think it's outrageous to live in your car for any time and think well you shouldn't relocate if you dont have tons of money saved. Free campgrounds and even cheap paid ones are nice for a short time.
I have 3 interviews lined up so I'm thinking of doing it. Would like to hear everybody's feedback for something similar they've done and the outcome.
Wouldn't not having an address be a hindrance to getting jobs? You could use library computers and the printer to polish up your resume as needed, but where would you shower and iron your interview clothes?
I know someone who did this, about 10 years ago. He spent an entire summer living out of his car in a campground while he saved money. He slept in a tent. He had a post office box for receiving mail. He used the campground shower facilities. He had a great time and saved up tons of money. After that, he bought a house.
So yes, OP, it can work.

Yes a good friend of mine who was single and retired spent several years living in his van and staying the night at truck stops or campgrounds. He was very resourceful finding locations for cleaning up and taking showers, ways of eating without going to cafes all the time, and found computers books and other interests at local libraries along his route of travels. He enjoyed the life and always called it an adventure as well saved lots of money during that time.
I wish you well with the interviews and hope things work out.

I thought of getting a cheap hotel room at least once a week, but then if paying at a campground thats $15 a day , add on the 70 for a hotel and could rent a cheap ABNB room for not much more.
