Thanks roosty. We just had some Tai food for the first time in about 4 months. We both forgot to take something out of the freezer for lunch today.

Well. I had two minutes in the garden this morning before it started to rain. I'm off of stair restriction. I'm going to go for a little walk even if it's just a few houses. It could rain any minute again.

odd numbers

odd socks
ODD (oppositional defiant disorder)

Other words that can mean pretty much the same thing as 'odd':

Are YOU odd?
I hope not!
Pick one: odds or evens:
odds
Are you more like Felix Unger or Oscar Madison? You must choose one or the other!
I'd say I have qualities of both, but in terms of attitude I like to think that I'm a non-messy Oscar. I don't believe in getting upset over trivial matters like whether it's called spaghetti or linguine. But I'm not a slob.
Born on an odd day or an even day?
I was born on the ides of December. That's odd!
3 songs with a 3 word title:
Take On Me
Baby Got Back
It's Raining Men

4 songs with a 4 word title:

Get Off My Cloud
On the Road Again

Things with rings:
Gymnastics
Jewelry stores
Planets
Doorbells

White American mass produced typical white bread is good for ______.
classic bologna sandwiches.
Bagel or croissant(?)...and with what on it?
I like both. Bagels with cream cheese and/or lox, or toasted with butter. I would never put anything on a croissant that would compete with their delicate, buttery flavor. They're perfect just as they are.
Have you any peanut butter...and what style?
Yes, I do. It's creamy.
Have you any ketchup?
Yes, I do.
Some things you might have ketchup with?
Hamburgers, meat loaf, fries. It's also one of the ingredients in my favorite recipe for Mexican salad dressing.
Push the grilled cheese sammich down with a spatula during grilling or don't?
I do that sometimes. It depends on how thick the bread is.
Have you ever owned any 16 rpm records?
No, but I've seen them. I believe they were used for recordings such as speeches or transcriptions of radio programs that were too long to fit on a regular LP and where high fidelity wasn't important. (Audio quality deteriorates at slower recording speeds, but for spoken word recordings that doesn't matter.)
Do you have a usable landline telephone? Is it connected?
Yes, we have two (one upstairs and one downstairs), and they are connected. They come in handy when the power goes out and our answering machine's wireless handsets stop working. We can call the power company from our landline, and they know which address is reporting and can give you recorded information on the outage. If you call from a cell phone, they don't know where you are. For the same reason, it's better to call 911 from a landline because they can locate you and get help to you sooner. In an emergency, this could make the difference between life or death.
What fruit(s) have you had this year and how were they?
Bananas, apples, grapes, strawberries, cherries. They were all good, although some of the apples I bought were over the hill and had that mealy texture.
Things you have had with bacon on them:
BLTs
Do you like rubbery bacon as well as the crispy bacon?
Yes, though I have a preference for crispy because more of the fat is cooked out.
Have you ever had bacon from the microwave oven?
I tried that once with pre-cooked bacon, and it burned the strips around the edges. I've never tried it with raw bacon. It's not that hard to cook bacon in a pan.
How is the current mosquito situation in your life?
I've seen one or two big mosquito-like flying insects around the house, although I've heard that the ones in our area are not true mosquitoes but some other species. I think our climate is be too chilly and breezy for real mosquitoes.
Any cereals that you liked when younger and would really like to have another box...but it's no longer made!
Kellogg's OKs, which were similar to Cheerios, but I thought they tasted better.
Alpha-Bits
Bran and Prune Flakes. (Please don't laugh. They were good! Honest! )
Roman Meal cereal
Rice Krinkles
Crispy Critters

Thanks, Roosty!

How about we mention things that are 'odd': 1, 3, 5, 7 9 . . . .

Other words that can mean pretty much the same thing as 'odd': weird; strange; peculiar

Are YOU odd? Definitely.

Pick one: odds or evens: Odds.

Are you more like Felix Unger or Oscar Madison? You must choose one or the other! Oscar.
Born on an odd day or an even day? Odd day.

3 songs with a 3 word title: Song Sung Blue; O Promise Me; Onward Christian Soldiers

4 songs with a 4 word title: The Twelfth of Never; Down By The Riverside; Flow Gently Sweet Afton (a song that was sung several times on episodes of The Andy Griffith Show); Reelin' In The Years

Things with rings: Tree trunks; dirty bathtubs; most married people

White American mass produced typical white bread is good for nothing.

Bagel or croissant(?)...and with what on it? Croissant with butter.

Have you any peanut butter...and what style? I have a store brand of chunky peanut butter. I always preferred creamy until just about a year ago and now I prefer chunky. No idea why that changed.

Have you any ketchup? Yep. I have a bottle that's at least a year old. A large bottle will last me at least a few years. I only use a little now and then when a recipe calls for it.

Some things you might have ketchup with? Maybe French fries. I don't use it much except for recipes.

Push the grilled cheese sammich down with a spatula during grilling or don't? Nopey.

Have you ever owned any 16 rpm records? No.

Do you have a usable landline telephone? Yes. Is it connected? Yes. I prefer the landline over my cell phone. Never had a landline call dropped yet.

What fruit(s) have you had this year and how were they? I ate some cherries for supper tonight. Very yummy. I've also recently eaten Cara Cara oranges. Just discovered them a month or so ago and they're quite delicious.

Things you have had with bacon on them: BLT; salads; water chestnuts; filet mignon

Do you like rubbery bacon as well as the crispy bacon? No.

Have you ever had bacon from the microwave oven? Yes. If you have the right surface to cook it on, it comes out good and crispy from the microwave oven.

How is the current mosquito situation in your life? Surprisingly, it hasn't been too bad the past couple of weeks. This, despite the fact that we've had unbelievable rain totals (we keep breaking records) and there's plenty of standing water for them to lay eggs in. Last month I got some bites while doing yard work, but it really hasn't been bad so far this season.

Any cereals that you liked when younger and would really like to have another box...but it's no longer made! The original Wheaties. About 20 or so years ago they changed the recipe and it's nowhere as good as it used to be. I no longer buy it.

** Eating and drinking can be quite a pleasure...enjoy something nice! ** I had a Bloody Mary with lunch at a restaurant today.

Thanks heaps for the fill-ins, roosty. Happy weekend, everyone!
