~ Please list a prefix or more, along with a few word examples that have them. And how about giving a basic definition of what each prefix generally means...just because it might be some geeky fun for us! : When you said "prefix," the first thing I thought of were the old phone prefixes: ATwater, CHerry, BUtterfield, etc.
But if you mean word prefixes, how about "gyno?" It means "woman" in Greek. Examples: gynecologist, gynophobia, gynocracy. Also, "ab." It means "away from" in Latin. Examples: abstain, absence, abhor.
~ Has there been a question during the past week that you particularly enjoyed for some reason? I can't think of a specific example, but as a rule I like the questions that can be answered with funny or serious real-life stories. I also enjoy the food questions.
~ 'How are you doing?' Fine, thanks. I'm going to bed right after I post this. How are you, Roosty? You gave us a scare last week.
~ Have you heard any animal sounds in the night? If you go outside and listen carefully, you can sometimes hear owls in the trees across the street. Some neighbors have been complaining that they can hear coyotes howling, but I've never heard that.
~ Have you ever seen an owl in the wild? Yes. One time a young Great Horned Owl landed on my deck railing. It sat there for quite a long while. I took a picture through the screen door.
~ Any sweetened cereal that you ever liked? I used to love (what were then called) Sugar Crisp, Sugar Jets and Sugar Corn Pops. Nowadays I prefer my cereal unsweetened.
~ I still am eating my grits, with lots of butter and salt. What is something you've been eating often? Chicken. I never get tired of it. Mr. Bay said last night that my chicken piccata is better than the one they serve at our favorite Italian restaurant.
~ Do you use a toaster to make anything? Can you make a toasted English muffin in a skillet? Once in a while I make BLTs on toast. I've never tried making a toasted English muffin in a skillet, but I'm sure that I could.
~ Do you ever use a microwave on a setting of less than %100 power? Yes, to soften butter when I'm baking. I use a very low power, say 2 or 3, for just 10 or 15 seconds. I also like to use a lower power to reheat uncovered food that might splatter.
~ Have you ever been to a planetarium show? Yes, a few times. I really enjoy those.
~ Who or what would be suspect #1 if you found your garbage can had been raided during the night? Raccoons. They are brazen.
~ There were 3 yolks in one egg in an egg I had a week ago. And, one time, years ago, I had a dozen eggs where 11 of them had double yolks. Please tell us all one of your egg stories! It can be anything at all as long as it has an egg in it! Once I dropped an entire carton of eggs on a white ceramic tile kitchen floor. What a holy mess that was.

The animal control folks captured it and released it.
