Greetings to the free range edition of the QOTD. None of these questions have been caged. They have all been allowed to run free in bjh's back yard. There is also a good chance they were stolen from bjh's back yard.

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live?

-When was the last time you went to the airport?

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you?

-If flying somewhere have you used the valet parking service?

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch?

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar?

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math.

-Ever been in a spelling bee?

When it came to school I was...
-An outstanding student.
-Often the teachers pet.
-Just your average student.
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school.
-Other.

Well I better get going. I need to start prepping for a long day of doing nothing.

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live? - Just the landlord. Had a pretty bad plumbing issue here last week.

-When was the last time you went to the airport? - 6-7 years ago to rent a car.

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you? - The last time I did this was 35 years ago.

-If flying somewhere have you used the valet parking service? - Nope.

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch? - I hope they have a salad. Almost guaranteed it will be subpar.

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar? - Never been to Costco.

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math. - I remember that.

-Ever been in a spelling bee? - The only one I remember was when I was in 6th grade and I won.

When it came to school I was...
-An outstanding student.
-Often the teachers pet.
-Just your average student.
- This one, except English.
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school.
-Other.

Thanks, Mutt!

Hello to all! Just clicked on this site and the new QOTD is up. Well, I'll play now so I don't forget tomorrow.

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live?
Years ago I had an electrician in to put a ceiling fan outlet in my living room ceiling.

-When was the last time you went to the airport?
Picked up my wife a few weeks ago.

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you?
Yes

-If flying somewhere have you used the valet parking service?
Years ago when I flew for business. Tried it, but didn't care for the service. I just park and ride the shuttle.

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch?
Cheeseburger and fries.

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar?
Never had

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math.
No, but I have my dad's set from his estate.

-Ever been in a spelling bee?
Yes, in grade school.

When it came to school I was...
-An outstanding student.
-Often the teachers pet.
-Just your average student. My grades did not reflect my ability. However, they did reflect my effort.
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school.
-Other.

Have a terrific Sunday, everyone!

I'm usually in bed by this time but while I'm here:

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live?
No to plumbers ever but yes to electricians here at the farm (30amp RV plug installed) and in Albuquerque (had a common wire problem on one outlet.)

-When was the last time you went to the airport?
Last year to meet my future grandson-in-law.

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you?
No. We met him as he entered the general non-secured area.

-If flying somewhere have you used the valet parking service?
A couple of times years ago.

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch?
What else but a slice of apple pie and a cup of coffee.

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar?
Yep. Once that I recall.

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math.
My hand is down.

-Ever been in a spelling bee?
Nope.

When it came to school I was... (I assume you mean high school?)
-An outstanding student.
-Often the teachers pet.
-Just your average student.
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school.
-Other.

Well I better get going. I need to start prepping for a long day of doing nothing.
Rate this post positively. I will do that. And thanks for the questions Mutt. Not bad at all.

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live? I live in a 110+ year old house with a lot of the original wiring and plumbing. I have definitely called plumbers and electricians. lol

-When was the last time you went to the airport? 10 or 12 years ago??

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you? Never did that

-If flying somewhere have you used the valet parking service? Nope. Our "valet" service was step daugher and SIL dropping us off and leaving our car at their house, saving a fortune.

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch? Grilled bacon and cheese sandwich and fries

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar? Never been to a Costco. Closest one is over 100 miles away

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math. Maybe twice

-Ever been in a spelling bee? Yup. Runner up for our grade school

When it came to school I was...
-An outstanding student.
-Often the teachers pet.
-Just your average student. Yup
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school.
-Other.

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live?
The apartment complex maintenance would take care of both.

-When was the last time you went to the airport? It was either the end of 2006 or the beginning of 2007.

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you? Haven't done that in over 20 years (before 9/11/2001) so the method is probably irrelevant now.

-If flying somewhere have you used the valet parking service? I always used to park in the long term parking lot at BWI (Baltimore) and take the parking lot bus shuttle in.

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch? No idea. Haven't seen a drug store lunch counter since I was a kid.

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar? Never ate at one. Haven't been in one since the 1980s when I was still married. In Tennessee, I used to belong to a Sam's Club but that was just to use their photograph printing service for large photos. Now, I print my own so I let that membership go.

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math. I didn't but you could.

-Ever been in a spelling bee? No

When it came to school I was...
-An outstanding student.
In some subjects...
-Often the teachers pet. Not often, just sometimes.
-Just your average student. In some subjects.
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher. No.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school. Only the Home Economics teacher. She didn't encourage skipping school but she did say I was the worst student she ever had in her 23 (I think that was the number) years of teaching when we were doing sewing. Thank God, the second half of that semester covered cooking so I could at least pull my grade up to a C.
-Other.

I was notoriously absent at school, passed classes with great grades, though.

Sunday's Questions:

-Have you ever called a professional plumber or electrician to make repairs or install something where you live? Neither of those but I called a dishwasher repairman a long time ago.

-When was the last time you went to the airport? May 2019

-If picking someone up at the airport do you wait in the cell phone parking lot and wait for them to call you? No because I don't drive, so I don't pick people up. But my husband waits in the parking lot.

-You are at a drug store lunch counter. What would you order for lunch? Likely a grilled cheese sandwich.

-Ever get something to eat at a Costco snack bar? Usually stop for a hot dog.

-Raise your hand if you used a slide rule back in high school math.

-Ever been in a spelling bee? No but I might have been able to do it. Spelling was my best subject.

When it came to school I was...
-An outstanding student.
-Often the teachers pet.
-Just your average student.
-Pretty much invisible to the teacher.
-Encouraged by teachers to skip school. I was very ADHD, and so I frustrated my teachers a lot.
-Other.
