Good, jailing a parent for their child's truency is completely ridiculous. I'm currently in 11th grade at high school and I can't even put into words how breaktakingly easy it is to skip school if you really want to (I don't but many do). It's literally just a case of walking out and if the teachers lay a hand on the offending pupil then it's off to court for them.
What a child does or does not do at school is, for the most part, beyond the parents' control and although they can sit down and talk with their kid they can't control them once they've gone through those school gates. The idea that the parent should be punished if the child then decides to walk out is absurd because it is punishing them for someone else's behaviour.
