I would wait a little bit before you snitched. I think it might be kind of obvious if you phone it in right about you moved there.

Who cares if they know who snitched? Are you scared of a meth head? Meth dealers don't have gang ties like coke dealers; most just do it to fund their own addictions. Turn them in tonight and demand that your county's judicial system give them some time in the crossbar motel and not just a slap on the wrist.

Here is my 2 cents worth. Meth users can be very paranoid, so it is prudent to remain anonymous. If you want to make up your own mind (before calling) here are some things to look for.

If they are using, they typically have lots of nervous energy. Try talking to him for five minutes. See if he can stand or sit still for that long.

If they are selling, you will usually see lots of traffic (cars, bicycles or on foot) and the visitors will not stay more than 5-10 minutes.

If they are cooking (and you are downwind) you can usually smell a strong "chemical" odor.

This is not "all inclusive" but these are some of the signs that I look for when I am trying to determine if I am dealing with a meth house or not.

Hope that helps.

This topic has really become all about meth and not about Tennessee. I will move to a more appropriate forum.

You can either jump too soon or jump too late! Ever seen a meth joint explode? Are there kids in the so called meth house? Do you have kids? Have you seen what just being around a cook house can do? Why hasn't your neighbor (who told you about the house) called it in?

There's a lot of factors involved. Unfortunately meth is on the rise (now) mainly from the illegal importation of drugs south of the border. Yes, our fine men and women in blue have been cracking (no pun intended) on the cookers stateside.

If it doesn't sit right then call it in. The DEA might already know about it.

Maybe the neighbor has had some issues with those folks in the past? Don't just assume because of what the visitor said until you have proof. Why don't the visitor call the cops? Don't get caught up in some backwoods drama already.
