People who leave their pets outside during winter. If they have no intention of taking care of their dogs, why do they even have them? Seems the only attention those dogs get is when their owner brings food to them or their water dish is filled. The kids don't play with the dog and nobody pays any attention to it. It's even tied or kenneled away from the house so it can't even offer any protection against intruders or trespassers. Why do these people have a dog? I don't get it.

I so hear ya....Alice!! It just breaks my heart to see this happening and actually with any sort of animal.
Sometimes I wish people would just get out of the emotional and into the logical reasoning!!
Yet another good post Alice,,,,, I wish people would care for the pets better as well. I see dogs running loose too often, and worse “cats” as well. People who have house pets should take better care of them. Neighbors don’t want to nor should they ~ have to raise someone else’s pet. My neighbors have two dogs and I enjoy them very much ~ they’re good neighbors and they take care of their dogs, I never have to worry about them. However I seem to always see signs posted about people who have lost a cat in the area. You didn’t loose a cat ~ the cat ran away!
People that own horses and never ride them, what good is a horse if you don't ride it ?
Careful, you're stepping on my toes here! The last horse I had was a mare that I enjoyed having around. I don't ride but I like horses and there is no law that says you have to ride horses just because you have a one.
Not everyone is into the riding aspect of the enthusiasm. I was more into breeding than riding and I kept my last mare around just because I was fond of her and from her actions around me, I would say the feeling was mutual. To me, my horses were my pets, large yard ornaments, self-propelled lawn mowers. You name it. When I raised horses, I kept the stallion, the mares and trained their foals to sell them as ground-trained yearlings.
I like horses. It's OK to like horses. There is no law that states people have to ride if they own a horse.
BIG pet peeve not taking care of dogs The less I say on this subject is probably for the best ...
