What would you do when you have an appointment and only a few minutes to spare as you’re driving down the lanes of parked cars you finally see the one (and only one) spot open, everything else is taken. You have to park you car! However coming from the other direction is another car looking for the same thing you are ~ that one spot. You both have seen it at the same time. What would you do?

I put let them have it because on one of the other answers it said pull in front of them and park.

If I would have to cut them off I feel like it would be rude to take the space.

I don't mind being late for an appointment and I did take a parking place that an
elderly man had his eye on once in my younger years and he yelled out the
window at me as he was going around the cars trying to find a parking space.

That happened in my teens and I still remember it!

I don't like being yelled at and it really bothered me that I cut him off and took the space so I think I would go out of my way to let someone have it.

But I got here first!! Yeah Me!! lol

If they had their turn signal on, I would let them have the space. If no turn signal and I felt that I saw it first, I would take it. If they look like people who will come back and key up my car, they can have the space.

I've had this occur in the past at my doctor's office when construction was going on and parking was terrible. This was when I had my knee surgery and was coming back for a followup. The other driver didn't act as if they saw the spot, I had seen it from the opposite side while driving around and had my turn signal on. They pulled into the spot and I just drove around until I found something. Luck was with me. Found a closer spot.

Well, being the pathetically on-time person that I am, I'd probably be arriving early and so I'd give up the space and look for another one.

I'm probably one of the unfriendly people. When in need of the parking space I would take it. However, I would reconsider if it weren't big enough for my parking skills lol. I prefer to walk some time before having scratches on my car. Well, what can I see, I'm a girl and I just don't know how big my car is. And we definitely have smaller cars than you have in the US!

Talking .

Tell them about a free valet service that is on the other side of the building and it’s even closer. This end of the parking lot is for employees only, sorry. I’m an employee.

I'm BAD

Exactly what I would do...

I had someone cut me off to get a spot years ago in Cleveland...still annoys me when I think about it, since my signal was on!

I get in this situation alot. I would probably let the other person have it. The only time I grab the spot is when I know I was there first, and without a doubt would have noticed it first. Some people don't look at it that way, I have had people just about crash into my car trying to jump into a spot before I got it!

Don't sweat the small stuff!
