Wow, this day flew!!!

How far would you drive/travel for a favorite anything ?
(this could be food, a Doctor, tax guy etc)
I am a road trip junkie, and if I ever win the lottery, I am going to travel the globe for everything! But for now....I drive 40 minutes
for the best sushi around even tho there are 4 sushi spots within 5 minutes of my house.

What was the last thing that "annoyed you" ?
<sigh...> drivers. I'm laughing tho - this was brought up on the "dumb questions" thread....I probably annoy just as many!

Do you have a favorite expression you use that pretty much lets folks know you are "annoyed" ?
I am often sitting at a stop light waiting for the person in front of me to pay attention!! It turns green...and they sit there...and they sit there
....and I yell at the windshield, "WHAT DO YOU WANT - A GOING AWAY PARTY???" . Except yesterday I forgot my windows were down. Oops.

List 3 of your favorite things to do outside when the weather is really nice.
* swimming on Lake George. (or is that in Lake George?)
* flowers. plant 'em, pick 'em, love 'em.
* go for a drive & admire God's handiwork.

What song makes you want to get up and dance when you hear it played?
Bodhisattva by Steely Dan
Uncertain Smile by The The
Rio De Janeiro by JJ Cale.............(sorry - had to give you a 3 way tie!)

LOL! Once, when we didn't notice that our snake was getting ready to shed (they can't see well so they won't eat, as you probably know), we had just bought TWO! This had happened once before with one mouse and we'd just left it in the cage but it died. I didn't want to "waste" two of them so we put them in a separate cage and fed them until the snake finally shed. Boy, did they stink! But, thankfully it wasn't too long before we were able to feed them to the snake. I always feel bad for the little critters but you know, the snake has to eat too! Someone once asked "How can you do that??? Why don't you feed it frozen mice? It won't be so cruel." I asked them how they thought the mice became frozen? Someone KILLED them! Dead is dead! Let me know if you find your escapee!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know that Charley came through the surgery
well. We will have the pathology report next week, but the doctor is very
pleased with how everything looks so far. Charley is very tired and a
little dizzy right now and is resting in bed. He (and I) sends his thanks
to all of you for your prayers and wonderful kind thoughts. Either I or he
will keep you updated with his progress tomorrow.
Be well yourselves,
Marlene

MY RESPONSE:
Marlene thank you so much...it feels as though we have all been in the waiting room with you all day. I never thought he would be home on the same day.
Charley is one special "big guy" over at City-Data and of course we know all about you so we feel we know you too.
Take care of yourself and from EVERYONE a big HUG for Charley.

Debbie
Thanks so much for doing this - updating us about Charley and sending him, and his wife our best wishes. If you hear anything else, please let us know. Thanks again - you're a good CD friend to all of us!

LOL! I just HAD to respond to this - I think your husband must be my husband's long-lost brother! A few weeks ago it was raining and we have a problem with a window that leaks. At 2 IN THE MORNING, my husband woke me from a dead sleep (because HE heard the dripping) and asked me if we had any towels!!! Any towels!!! Now, bear in mind that we have not one but four linen closets - all of which he's aware of! No secret stashes of towels in our house!

Then, a couple of weeks later, at 4 IN THE MORNING, the smoke alarm started beep, beep, beeping because the battery was dying. It woke up my husband so he woke me up, again out of a dead sleep and asked if we had any 9 volt batteries! First of all, I don't keep an inventory of our batteries in my head! Secondly, we have ALWAYS kept our batteries in the same place, ever since we lived here; in one drawer in our hall closet!

Each time it was all I could do not to strangle him but we laughed about it the next morning - he was just half asleep and not thinking! So, do you think they could be related???

Yesterday I mentioned taking the "magic carpet" to NJ to get bagels this made me think hmmm I wonder

How far would you drive/travel for a favorite anything ?
(this could be food, a Doctor, tax guy etc)

Kansas City (3 1/2 hours) for Copeland's of New Orleans

Bonus Question:

What was the last thing that "annoyed you" ?

The idiot on the freeway weaving all over the place because she was reading something on a piece of paper.

Do you have a favorite expression you use that pretty much lets folks know you are "annoyed" ?

If they're in earshot, "You're an idiot!" If not I use the one finger salute.

Extra Credit Question:

List 3 of your favorite things to do outside when the weather is really nice.

Sit and read, garden, watch all the critters out back.

Just for Fun:

What song makes you want to get up and dance when you hear it played?

I don't dance. There are some things I will do to embarrass myself. That is not one of them.

Hope everyone is having a great day! Now that we know that Charley is going well the day improved for many I think!

Today's Question(s):

Yesterday I mentioned taking the "magic carpet" to NJ to get bagels this made me think hmmm I wonder

How far would you drive/travel for a favorite anything ? Well since Omaha & Des Moines are both about 80 miles from us and that is where most "things" can be found that aren't available locally... I would say 80 miles.
(this could be food, a Doctor, tax guy etc)

Bonus Question:

What was the last thing that "annoyed you" ? co-worker trying to slip into a personal conversation

Do you have a favorite expression you use that pretty much lets folks know you are "annoyed" ? I have a tendancy to growl/grumble

Extra Credit Question:

List 3 of your favorite things to do outside when the weather is really nice. - Ride motorcycle, sit outside and either read or visit with friends, grill out.

Just for Fun:

What song makes you want to get up and dance when you hear it played? Different days, different songs

Today is:
National Shrimp Scampi Day Yummy
