90 year old, 25 foot wide house with no garage, no front yard, tiny back yard, no side separation from the row house next door, 3 bedroom, 1 bath. Tall ceilings.

Nice view of the San Francisco waterfront and the Bay bridge.

In most places, such a house might not fetch much of a price or many buyers. This house on Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco today might fetch $1 million +.

Can I afford this today? No. I wouldn't pay $1M for a house like that even if I had the cash lying around. However, it is a nice place to live, no doubt about it.

No, I cannot, part of me would like to retire in New England where I am originally from, the Boston area. I could never afford the area now.

You know i guess I am a city girl- never thought I was- but I live in a city with 50,000 people and its waaay too small for me!

yes, and i have. 3 years ago we bought the house 5 doors away from where i grew up. i love it! there are many of the same neighbors. being a stay at home mom, it is nice to have those old people around. my kids remind me so much of me when i was little. i would go over to the old women houses across the street and talk to them for hours. my kids do that now!

i did however, move away in december for a job transfer. i still own the house. my husband wants to sell and buy a house here in florida. i am fighting him on that. i want to continue renting here in floridda and renting out our house in delaware.

I did move away for 6 years after I got married. My husband is from Hamilton, Ontario, so we lived there. I think the population is somewhere around 500K. That was WAAAAAAAAY too much for me! 50K is way too much! Some people can thrive in cities, and that's cool. Me? I'm just a country girl.

I could afford it, but I wouldn't want to live there. Too rural for me, nothing to do and too few jobs.

Yes, but have no desire to live there and my husband would never move to Calif.. In fact just got back from my Dad's just way to many people and the traffic can't stand it. Would have to put in central air I have gotten way to spoiled.

No, I couldn't afford it even if prices were rolled back to 1992 levels! I grew up in La Canada, and my dad sold his house (four bedrooms, living room, family room, two-car garage, pool, on 1/4 acre) for almost $400,000 in 1991 (he and my stepmom moved to Florida). I wish I could afford to live in that area; it's still beautiful and pretty quiet, and the schools are excellent.
