2. Whenever one of those scary conversion ads is on I forget everything I know and ask my husband "you're SURE there isn't something more to this that we're missing?"

I'm already HD digital - been for over a year. I like to prepare way ahead of time.

This is weird - We only get one local channel with our antenna. Well, that one channel was one of the ones that switched to digital in April instead of June. We never got the converter box, and nothing has happened to our signal!! Everything is exactly the same as it always has been! It makes me wonder what that is all about.

So, I guess my contribution to the top ten is:

Do nothing and see what happens!!!!

I did buy a converter box yesterday (haven't hooked up yet), just in case something changes.

Most all the stations are still broadcasting in analog as well as digital. June 9th is the cut off date, so you should see analog until at least then, unless your station changes sooner.

Thanks Nitram! That may explain what's going on. When our station switched, they made it sound like they were scrambling the analog signal as of April 17th, and that if you didn't get the box you would no longer have reception. I have had no one else to compare with, because everyone I know has cable or satellite.

I could actually do without local television, except it is pretty handy in the winter to find out if my kids schools are closed for snow!
