I didn't grow up with pets and I don't want a pet. My daughter has been asking for a puppy every since she was a little girl. I never got her one. I'm not an animal person and I knew I would be the one who would have to take care of it. When she's old enough to afford her own place, she can get one....
I have a cat that allows me to share the house with her.
The puppy is like a bouncy little ball that has a built in boomarang. Pet Me Pet Me!! Lick Lick Lick!
And he can do whatever he wants. He's just that darn cute.
DH and I were laughing at ourselves the other day...we used to be very strict with our dogs but this one...you can yell at it, swat at it and it's still...Pet Me Pet Me!! Lick Lick Lick!

i have thousands of pet rocks!!! but my pet rocks do not want to be scratched and fed.. our cat will bite u if you don't give her food when she wants it!!! and she likes her back to be scratched on demand>> the lab is a big loveable mess maker
There is a female chocolate lab at my house & she allowed a yellow lab mix (male) to move in. So far they have been nice enough to let me stay because they don't know how to use a debit card & pick up the ridiculously expensive dog food they love. The mix came from a shelter - he actually was part of a "foster" program. A friend of mine fosters dogs & thought this one would be perfect for me (he is!).
But I have to clean the floors everyday (my sympathies to you BlueWillowPlate! ) When these pooches get to the Rainbow Bridge, I think I will just foster a few dogs now & then and give my house & schedule a break.
Yeah, I am part of the "forever vacuuming" crew! We have two bigger dogs, and they know they are not allowed on the furniture, but if you come downstairs in the middle of the night they are both scrambling to get off the recliners - those little sneaks!!
