Hanging clothes out to dry, then running an errand and then getting a real thunder shower while out. Is it just me?

During winter here when it's constantly damp and drizzling, doing the washing is impossible without having ya clothes reek of that foul damp smell.

And then there is the quiet rain - you are home but don't hear the rain until it is too late!

And then there's that constant rain, that you don't hear because it is so constant, so drizzling, so gray, so cold, so damp, so invasive. Try living in Holland before complaining about rain. Seriously.

I had a neighbor that didn't care. She even hung out in the winter while snowing.

Great post and great replies here!
Personally I like my jeans stiff anyway so as long as possible, will leave them out there.
But instead of rain, have been called to go do something, forgetting about the clothes out on the line, and come back hours later only to see them still out there. Arrrrgh!
Problem isnt too hard to solve though, I spray some Downey spray softener as I fold them so the softness and the smell comes back.

Hmmm.... The last time I hung my clothes out to dry was after a rain storm, and I ended up getting arrested for indecent exposure...
