How many in our "question family" are experiencing "Open Window" weather ?
If not yet,when are you usually able to open them to enjoy the breezes ?

It took me a minute to figure out that this question comes from the tropical south or desert SW. My windows have been open since June...with lovely cross breezes....I couldnt bear to have to close up the house for A/C....so when I read this question I thought...this past week I have had to close a few windows....because at night we have had it in the high 30's. Today is glorious and the breezes are carrying the messages of autumn and exciting the senses.

So tell us, what are some of your Quirks ?

So its "Quirks" is it?.....thats what you want to know about?....
Well one trait that I identify (even give it a diagnotic classification) is my pronounced dread of talking on the telephone. I seldom initiate a call and when someone calls here...I will answer but even when talking to loved ones....I start to get anxious. Those loved ones are aware of this "quirk" so all I have to do is say......I really have to get off the phone now....and they understand. It is odd that business type calls or functional calls arent in the same catagory.....and are much less problematic.

What are your favorite chores to do around the house ?
I love to iron....the other morning I spent ironing cloth napkins and handkerchiefs and flat linens. That type of ironing will only come over me every once in a while. I consider ironing to be a form of meditation.....being present in the moment and fully aware of the task, the process and steps, the sensory input of the smell of hot cotton and steam...and the satisfaction of completion. I can get as lost in ironing as in reading an absorbing book.
Have you ever collected rocks ?

Yes, no so much as a minerologist.....but rocks as reminders and connections to places I have visited... a piece of an experience and place that is meaningful to me. Sometimes a stone will seem to connect with me. Rocks and stones have spirits and their own wisdom.
"Tunka" is stone in Lakota language....."Tunkashila" is one of the words for God.
Do you own a raincoat ?

My winter coat is waterproofed.....not a real rain coat, but taking the lining out....I have used it in summer too.

If not yet,when are you usually able to open them to enjoy the breezes ? At about 1 p.m. Usually I'm a little cold in the mornings when it's still dark outside.

So tell us, what are some of your Quirks? Usually I say what I think and some people just can't handle that strict and forward attitude of mine Hmmm, does that mean I have to keep my mouth shut and never say anything???
As for the smaller things: I am quite lazy from time to time in regards of house work and always say that I'm not a slave of my house.
I love sleeping - next to nobody can understand that, but I try to sleep at least 7.5 hours per night

Have you ever collected rocks ? No, but DS has to pick up some every where we go so I have quite a collection in our garden and being only a little over 2 years old he doesn't have an eye for what's beautiful yet.

Do you own a raincoat ? No, but a rain jacket and rubber boots

I love open window weather and out here we can do that. That nice coo breeze running through the house.
My quirks? I dont like raisins. I like a house with lots of windows, natural light. Dont like using lights and closed blinds when its so nice and bright outside.
Somehow I love doing dishes. Even when I had a dishwasaher, always did them by hand.
I never collect rocks, but at one point, used to collect bananna stickers off of banannas!
I have an army raincoat my son gave me when he got back from Korea. I treasure it.

When I eat out, which is quite a bit, I'll eat my salad after the main course meal.

When i go to the Golden Corral or some other food buffet, I might even have a small slice of cake in between plates. FOOD-YESSS!!!!!

Have you ever collected rocks?. Yep, still have a couple pet rocks. Still have a few rocks rolling around in my head ; one of these days I'm going to have to inventory them!

Do you own a raincoat? Yep, might be using it this weekend for the Broncos home opener this Sunday!

National eat an apple day! Don't eat that many, drink lots of apple juice though.
Road runner day! One of my favorite cartoons growing up, which I still haven't done yet(growing up, that is)! Actually I see roadrunners frequently when I visit friends in New Mexico-it's the state bird!

When grocery shopping I rarely take the can or package closest to the front of the shelf. I will move it out the way and grab one further back on the shelf.

Well, the temps have hovered around 80 the past few days, but the humidity has been 99% and so very muggy not to mention when it rains (which it has done almost nonstop the past three days) it gets even more muggy and hot!!!

Wow , dh would say I am the Queen of Quirks! Let's see:

Whenever I go to bed or leave the house, I usually have to get up, come back inside and check appliances to make sure I turned them off, locked the door, left water for the dogs...

On a 4-lane highway, I drive on the outside lane, unless I am going over a high bridge, usually over a large body of water!, I have to get to an inside lane..

I really need to be the one driving, maybe that is a control issue

I won't tell a white lie such as, " My child is sick, I cannot come today" because I figure if I do, then he will get sick and it will be my fault!!!

During the winter, I have to have a window cracked just a bit in the living room and in our bedroom....just to allow fresh air in...we have gas heat!

I'm sure there are more, but I don't want to completely scare you away from me!!!!

So tell us, what are some of your Quirks ? Hmm...many many, so many Well, one thing is, since I can be a loner, I need my space or alone time. That includes driving on the road...I HAVE TO have some distance between the car ahead of me and behind me--no less than 100 feet--otherwise I get so claustrophobic, it makes me on edge. I tend to drive more on the right lane because of that, lol.
