I just wanted to make KWAK didn't miss this. That is a quirker's quirk if ever I saw one, and I absolutely love it.

If I had noticed the space I would have likely done the same. Which means that I have extra work answering the QOTD from now on...

I guess my primary answer to the quirk's guestion would be my really hating to be watched, espacially as in: "being stared at". So, that may be two quirks?

Today's Question(s):

How many in our "question family" are experiencing "Open Window" weather ?

Yes, it's finally here! After a long hot summer here in Texas the last several days here in my area have been wonderful with highs in the 70's during the day. We've also been getting some much needed rain, thank God.

Bonus Question:

Lets discuss Quirks !!!

Ok, we all have them, so being the cozy little family that we have become I thought it would be fun to see how many of us might share the same Quirks

So tell us, what are some of your Quirks ?

I have a lot of them so I'll just list a few. I usually double check all doors that I lock. I like to keep the bills in my wallet facing the same direction. I always hang my paper towels and toilet paper the same way (so they roll the same way). I always keep the contents of my pantry in their same places (can goods in it's spot, cereal in it's spot, etc.). I also wash my hands a lot. So yeah, I have a lot of OCD behaviors that's for sure!...LOL.

Extra Credit Question:

The other day I so wanted to just "Stand Up & Yell" _Shut Up__ !!!

When I was listening to a well known politician who was speaking and telling a lot of lies. I'll refrain from saying who it was.

Just for Fun:

What are your favorite chores to do around the house ?

None! I hate them all equally...LOL

Have you ever collected rocks ?

Oh yeah, when I was a kid I collected rocks often. I had a huge box that I kept them in. I collected rocks from all over the place where I lived and also from the various places me and my family went on vacation to.

Do you own a raincoat ?

Not currently. I used to have one but I gave it to someone else that really needed it since I rarely used it.

Today's Question(s):

How many in our "question family" are experiencing "Open Window" weather ?

If not yet, when are you usually able to open them to enjoy the breezes ?
We have a beach cottage with no air conditioning, so if we close up our house during the day it heats up to 80+ degrees in there, which my fish really don't enjoy. So it's open window weather for us all spring, summer and fall. Winter is the only time we keep the windows closed, as even here in sunny Southern California it gets cold (relatively) down by the beach.
Bonus Question:

Lets discuss Quirks !!!

Ok, we all have them, so being the cozy little family that we have become I thought it would be fun to see how many of us might share the same Quirks

So tell us, what are some of your Quirks ?
Whenever I leave my house or office and lock the door behind me, I have to jiggle the knob and push, just to double-check that it actually locked, even though I could clearly hear the bolt click. It's probably my most obvious "Monkism".
Extra Credit Question:

The other day I so wanted to just "Stand Up & Yell" _______________ !!!
F!U! CAROL P****! YOU SHOULD BE DISBARRED FOR YOUR INCOMPETENCE!
Just for Fun:

What are your favorite chores to do around the house ?
Gardening, gardening and gardening. I love pruning and planting and growing things. Having my own yard I can garden in is the primary reason I wanted to buy a house instead of continuing to rent.
Have you ever collected rocks ?
Still do. All the rocks in the rock garden under the stairs we put in in the back yard were collected from our local beaches.

And I picked up a few more really cool ones on our recent trip to Jalama State Beach.

Do you own a raincoat ? Yes.

Whew! You guys ask a lot of questions! And you do this every day?

ETA: Ok, I posted before reading everyone's answers so I wouldn't be swayed in any way. So I just went back to the beginning to start reading, and I see the very first reply by Davey123 says:

Just an update on the windows/AC - It is a beautiful day here today for having the windows open, lovely breeze, temperature of 69° at 2 PM and very sunny. Clear blue skies with just a few fluffy white clouds. Unfortunately, the neighbor down the street got a permit to burn his brush pile from his tree trimming project and the wind switched directions and the whole neighborhood is filled with the smoke from smoldering leaves. So the windows are still closed and the AC is still on.

Hi All!!! It was a LONG day at work, so I'm gonna race thru this and get to bed; I apologize in advance...

Today's Question(s):

How many in our "question family" are experiencing "Open Window" weather ? Maybe in another week or so...

If not yet, when are you usually able to open them to enjoy the breezes ?

Bonus Question:

Lets discuss Quirks !!!

Ok, we all have them, so being the cozy little family that we have become I thought it would be fun to see how many of us might share the same Quirks

So tell us, what are some of your Quirks ? Too many; but none come to mind immediately...

Extra Credit Question:

The other day I so wanted to just "Stand Up & Yell" &^%$#@!!!! Well, you ASKED...

Just for Fun:

What are your favorite chores to do around the house ? Does taking Mrs. CC out for dinner count???

Have you ever collected rocks ? Other than the ones in my head, no!

Do you own a raincoat ?
Yes, several, including a Carhartt SO sturdy that even Karla would be envious if she saw me in it in a hurricane!

Today in History:
1620 - On this day, 102 passengers and crew set sail on the "Mayflower" from Plymouth, England. Their destination was the New World. This hearty group of 41 men, the rest, women and children; half religious dissenters (HAD to be some of MY forebears...)and half entrepreneurs, made it to Provincetown, Massachusetts on November 21, 1620. A month later, the Plymouth Colony was founded by the passengers of the "Mayflower". Their furniture arrived later in a green & yellow tractor trailer.

1908 - General Motors was founded on this day. The man responsible for the beginning of the huge auto-manufacturing company (maker of Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet) was William Crapo ‘Billy’ Durant.
1968 - Richard Nixon appears on "Laugh-in"
1981- the pilot episode of Miami Vice aired on NBC-TV Of COURSE the program's intro immediately came to mind...

Word of the Day:

logorrhea \law-guh-REE-uh\ , noun:
1. Pathologically incoherent, repetitious speech.
2. Incessant or compulsive talkativeness; wearisome volubility.
3. An ailment experienced by loggers ...

Today is:

National Guacamole Day
National eat an Apple Day
Road Runner Beep! Beep!
Play Doh Day
Collect Rocks Day
Wrinkled Raincoat Day- I've got a VERY wrinkled Eddie Bauer model stuffed into my work bag...

Today's Question(s):

How many in our "question family" are experiencing "Open Window" weather ? Yes, I am, generally April through early October... cooler months given only during the day, one bedroom window open an inch or two all winter as well though.

I can't go to bed with a dirty kitchen. If I put a spread (mayo, mustard, ketchup, etc.) on bread, I had to spread it edge to edge evenly so each bite has the full flavor effect. That's just two... I've got many more... I prolly need to lay on a couch somewhere and discuss the OCD madness!!!
Extra Credit Question:

The other day I so wanted to just "Stand Up & Yell" _______________ !!! You are SUCH a LYING POS!!! (to an elected official whom I won't name).

Just for Fun:

What are your favorite chores to do around the house ? Paint

Have you ever collected rocks ? Yes. There's even some 8mm footage of me as a young girl of 2-3 running ahead of my family and stuffing them under my winter hat and up into my nose!!! I gave the orifice thing up a long time ago concerning rocks though!!! lol

Do you own a raincoat ? Yes, parka length.

If you've never been to Plymouth and toured the Mayflower reproduction, let me just tell you, those people were SHORT!!!
1908 - General Motors was founded on this day. The man responsible for the beginning of the huge auto-manufacturing company (maker of Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet) was William Crapo ‘Billy’ Durant. Think his nickname was Bill or Crappy??

Open them up around the end of March/beginning of April; and shut them up the middle of Oct at night when the temps drop a bit much. One of the joys of living in a Northern climate; Long pleasant Summers without too much heat.

Bonus Question:
Lets discuss Quirks !!!
So tell us, what are some of your Quirks ?

Ice Cream cannot have anything in it. No nuts, no candy, nothing. Just Ice Cream and maybe a topping like chocolate or caramel.

I will NOT take my boat beyond the pier heads into Lake Michigan without a marine radio, 2 motors (with separate fuel supplies to each), a float plan left with somebody, double the flairs that are required, and a superstitious trival offering made as I pass the pier heads (something my Grandfather always did and he always had great trips and great luck, so I carry on the stupid little act.)

Extra Credit Question:
The other day I so wanted to just "Stand Up & Yell"
Are you all Morons !!! Came to mind in the store waiting to check out on Labor Day.

Just for Fun:
What are your favorite chores to do around the house ?

Cook

Have you ever collected rocks ?
Yes.

Do you own a raincoat ?

Yes, several.

My husband does that, too. It seems to be a European thing, though I cannot for my life guess where that habit comes from, since no published writing in any language that I know of uses that convention. Are you from Europe somewhere, Karla?

Does that mean you were there there, as in, in the audience?

The day we moved into our new house on December 31st, 2004, it started raining. And raining. And raining. And RAINING. It pretty much didn't stop raining until March. The rainfall was so spectacular that seeds that had been buried and encased in thick, hard shells for over 100 years, cracked open and pushed their way to the surface, causing Death Valley to become blanketed with purple and yellow wildflowers. Tens of thousands of people traveled there to see it, since it was a once-in-a-lifetime event, from as far away as Germany and Japan. It was one of the most breathtaking things I've ever seen. We have had nice open window weather for the past several days in The Circle City.
Definitely a tinge of fall in the air.

If not yet, when are you usually able to open them to enjoy the breezes ?

Ok, we all have them, so being the cozy little family that we have become I thought it would be fun to see how many of us might share the same Quirks

I don't consider them quirks, the are just the way it is.

Extra Credit Question:

The other day I so wanted to just "Stand Up & Yell" I hate politics!!!

Just for Fun:

What are your favorite chores to do around the house?
This sounds like this could be a oxymoron in the making.

Have you ever collected rocks ?
Yep, have several large rocks from various gold mines. On another note, my Mother in Law has collected and I have had moved these same large type rocks for years.
