Is it me or has the world gone nuts? I’m dealing with frustration from day to day now because I try and save food items. It’s not the food that is the problem it’s the “plastic wrap” that you have to fight with to cover the container of food.

We never had issues with most any of the plastic wrap that we would buy and use however lately this last box of wrap is giving me trouble. It has too much static cling and trying to put it on something is near impossible. It sticks to itself when I take it out of the box and ends up being a ball of plastic wrap that I can’t use.

Mrs Aks bought a box of "green" plastic wrap also "red" to use for covering Christmas cookies that she'll bake. Last year I couldn't get the plastic wrap to "cut" as it came out of the box. Who makes this stuff? It too stuck to everything except the container for the cookies.

It definitely can be frustrating and maddening to mess with. A better cutter would help too!!!

Static cling, I love it.

Could it be your humidity is very low?

I could drink more but a few extra beers might not help with the humidity.

They all are a pain in the rear end here's what I found that helps bunches. Pull out about the amount that you want to use but don't cut it off. Take the plastic put it over your container tucking the loose end under the container. Now make it tight from the box end then cut it off tuck that end under. Essentially you have the plastic tucked under the container and one end still in the box. Now you can pull the sides tight and tuck them under too.

I have 3 different brands opened here once they are gone I am giving up on plastic wrap I think.

Try buying a hand full of plastic "bonnet's" with an elastic band. They're washable and reuseable. No more fiddling with cling wrap! Just slip a bonnet over your bowl and you're done.

Or, try using the more expensive brands of cling wrap. For instance, the cheap Walmart stuff is not only inexpensive, it's also truly cheap. You get what you pay for.

Something from an old Helga's Household Helpful Hints. Store and keep the plastic wrap in the freezer or refrigerator. Apparently that seems to work.

"We all know how frustrating getting a sheet of Saran paper out of the roll, having it tangled before you can put in on the object you have intended it for. Here is a great tip and it does work. Keep your Saran wrap or whatever kind of plastic wrap in your freezer! Take it out unroll what you need and, Voila!, it comes right off without crumbling up or sticking to itself. When you are done, don't forget to put it back in the freezer.
