How many of your friend and relatives have yet to sit down in front of a computer screen and surf the Internet? And how do you typically react to these people? Coerce them to use it, finally? Seeing them as really missing out on something in life, or better off without it?

I have a good friend and a cousin who stubbornly refuse to even consider the idea of going online even though they could both well-afford a top-notch computer.

For my cousin, as bull-headed as she is (at 65 years of age still refuses to fly in a plane) and as potentially obsessive as she is, it's probably best she doesn't discover the Internet world. It usually takes her an eternity, to switch railroad tracks in her life, and when she does, she becomes totally obsessed with it.

I don’t think I have any friends who don’t use the internet. Even my parents who are in their 80’s use the internet, and my father will set up several screens to play the stock market.

My father-in law has never been on the internet. He used to sell homes in the 80's and very early 90's but he would still do paper contracts. He said when they switched everything to computers, he would do the paper and let someone else in the office type it up. He has been over to my house and I showed him some vaction pictures and then was going to show him a video my wife put on YouTube and he was shocked we could do that but did not care to watch the video. He still refuses to even call businesses, instead he feels better just going by when they are open to ask his question. He is in his mid 70's and he has said he will never see the need to surf the web, he said that why he has us.

Both my brothers, who are in their 70's. And they go on with life just fine without it.

I do have a few friends who touch their computers so seldom that I wonder why they bother having them. They don't email except once or twice a year, don't surf.

I've been telling all of my family about the internet since Windows 95. Just last year, a few members are now online and in FB. Even my brother has overcome and can type (one finger on each hand) to chat with me. I'm proud of all of them!

My mother and my grandmother have never used the internet. Even though I have shown both of them many things on the net they might enjoy, they both continue to say that they have no interest in it...LOL.

My dad has a cable connection & nice computer but I think he just does email and checks news/sport scores/weather.

I've tried to show him there's music sites, lots of other cool things.

My mom never goes on the computer or online unless we email Dad photos.

My parents never used one, and that was fine. I don't think my brother does or uses one very little. I use mine but Im not one that really cares about computers. Actually Im not sure they have done much for the mindset of the world. Many may think they are the greatest invention ever made and thats their business. I think the world is very impersonal and I blame much of it on the computer and cell phones. Im glad I was young when the computers were not around but, to each thier own.
