Good morning everyone
Happy Wednesday

It is going to be a sunny day here in NE FL so I think I am going to have to schedule some "play in the garden time "
But first let me ask

How many corded phones are in your home ?

Extra Credit Question:

Do you or did you ever have a charm bracelet ?

Bonus Question:

What was your last "Someday We'll Laugh About This" moment ?

Just for Fun:

Have you ever done the Y-M-C-A ?

Good morning!

Today's Question(s):

Does anyone still have a "rotary dial" telephone ? No

How many corded phones are in your home ? Zero

Extra Credit Question:

Do you or did you ever have a charm bracelet ? Never. I'm not a bracelet girl, anyway!

Bonus Question:

What was your last "Someday We'll Laugh About This" moment ? A few days ago, while hubby was getting annoyed by some document we had been expecting for ages (because of a few glitches in a doctor's practice organisation - some days I really wonder if people communicate and interract!). And when we eventually received the document, it was just not what we had requested!

Just for Fun:

Have you ever done the Y-M-C-A ? I suppose! (thank you Karla, now I have this silly song in my head!)

Today is:

National Carrot Cake Day
National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day
Halfway Point of Winter
Charm Bracelet Day
Y-M-C-A day
Someday We'll Laugh About This Day

Have a great day!

I don’t think so, it was after my dancing age, and now not what we would do unless we had been drinking.

Not any more. I loved them, though; they were so solid and sturdy. And I think there was something about waiting for the dial to return around to its original position with each number that encouraged patience. Touch-tone phones are faster, but somehow they lack soul.

How many corded phones are in your home?

We have a land-line with three different extensions, but each of the extensions is the cordless variety. At least once or twice a week, we find ourselves tearing the house apart looking for one (or more) of the handsets. I think the cat hides them.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you or did you ever have a charm bracelet?

I still do, although I haven't worn it in decades. When I was 11 years old, I went with my parents on a three-week trip to Europe - the trip of a lifetime, after they had saved up for it for about four or five years. My souvenir from that trip was a sterling silver charm from every city we visited, and my very talented mother put them all on a lovely silver bracelet, in the order in which we visited the cities, when we got back. My favorite was the bobby's hat that opened to reveal a tiny bobby standing at attention, from London, of course. Over four decades later, I still have the bracelet in my jewelry box, and although my style in jewelry does not include jangly silver things, I'll never get rid of it.

Bonus Question:

What was your last "Someday We'll Laugh About This" moment?

Hmmm, well, that happens pretty often around here, and it usually involves our tuxedo-clad goofball of a cat. He's currently on a medication that REALLY boosts his appetite, and I got up this morning to discover him happily munching on his treats - which he had managed to get out of the top of an upper cabinet in the kitchen at some point during the night, pulling down several other items in the process.

Just for Fun:

Have you ever done the Y-M-C-A?

Huh?

no, but would love to have the one my grandmother had

How many corded phones are in your home ? I have one in the back bedroom (it's not plugged in)

Extra Credit Question:

Do you or did you ever have a charm bracelet ?
yes, I have a silver one and I have charms on it that I have bought all over the world while traveling
I also have a Tiffany's charm bracelet (only one charm that came on it) that a friend talked me into buying (that I sure didn't need) but I have it and wear it all the time, going to get my money's worth out of it

Bonus Question:

What was your last "Someday We'll Laugh About This" moment ? I don't remember saying that at the time but I have had moments like that

Just for Fun:

Have you ever done the Y-M-C-A ?
oh yeah, I was in a square dance club and we danced to that all the time

Default Third bracelet's the charm. . .

Do I have a charm bracelet?

Some keep diaries, journals, notebooks, scrapbooks and mementos. Others blog.

When I turned 16, my Mother gave me a silver charm bracelet that covered my life up until that time. There was a baby carriage, a rocking horse, some roller skates, a tennis racket. . . and as the years went by, I added charms to it. Lavalieres given to me by boyfriends, Greek letters from college days, charms representing places I'd visited. About the time my daughter was born, the bracelet had absolutely no room left on it, unless I started hanging charms upon charms.

So, I started a second bracelet, and of course that one had lots of things related to my life then as 'Mommy,' and a number of charms marking events in my little one's life. My favorite has to be the little high chair I stumbled across, with the tray that lifts. We had fun picking charms out together -- Mickey from one trip to Disney World, Minnie from another, soccer and basketballs. About the time she started HS, it was full. I think of it as hers, and when she wants to wear it, I'll pass it along.

Hence, the third 'charmer,' which has been a lot of fun. It is whimsical, full of all kinds of things. I was thrilled the day I stumbled upon a Trojan horse with a little top that opens, and the men's heads are visible. This bracelet has a number of literary references, like the horse, and the students used to love twisting the bracelet around my wrist to see them all. As I walked across the room, lecturing, or checking their work, or whatever, they'd stop me and ask to look at the charms. For that reason, I never could add a naughty charm my husband gave me. It sits in a box in my jewelry drawer. (I've often imagined the look on someone's face when they stumble upon it, say after my demise, and are going through my things.)

I don't have much invested in any of the bracelets. Charms can be as inexpensive as anywhere from $3-5.00, and I just don't put any more than $20-25.00 in any one of them. But the wealth is in the memories, and from the fun in collecting them.

Good morning everyone! Another hump day has arrived...
Does anyone still have a "rotary dial" telephone ? No.

How many corded phones are in your home ? One, but it's not plugged in.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you or did you ever have a charm bracelet ? No.

Bonus Question:

What was your last "Someday We'll Laugh About This" moment ? Can't think of one...brain is tired from watching the Illinois primary results til late. Oh, maybe we'll laugh about the corruptness and inefficiency of our state government someday? Hope so anyway...

Just for Fun:

Have you ever done the Y-M-C-A ?

They make us do it in this aquacize type class I take with my mom sometimes. It's dorky to me.
