I miss my boyfriend. He's brilliant, and has so much to contribute to this site, and does so on an ongoing basis. I think he, however, might be getting sucked into this more than the average city-data member. At first I thought it was a particular thread that was keeping him so fired up, but now I am wondering if he's fallen in love with city-data, and my days are numbered.
In all seriousnedd, I miss our long talks which have lately been replaced with late nights going from thread to thread. How I miss him calling me so often throughout the day just to talk for a minute. I am feeling a strong desire to get off city-data just because I am beginning to resent it.
Has anyone else felt slighted by someone they love because of their love for city-data (or twitter, any other blogging site)?
Missing him terribly.

Sad story Jk. I'd just move on and count your blessings! If he's addicted to City-Data he's lost forever...sadly.

On the other side of this debate you can do what Mrs. Cncracer and I do. We have two lap tops, and will sit in our wingbacks across from each other, posting our views. Than we will discuss the funny parts. She likes the sites with fewer conflicts and thus avoids the political issues, and R&P forum. I like the all and will get lectured on being too direct at times LOL. When all things are measured I see it is better than watching TV, which the biggest mental and verbal drain on any relationship.

Thank you!! I think that is a wonderful idea! He's way to amazing to not have right beside me for the next 70 years, so it's two laptops at our house!

You are right. He's got amazing integrity and honor, and I count my blessings everyday that this is my only complaint.

Moving on is NOT an option. He's the love of my life and there is no other man for me. We were put on this earth to do amazing things as partners, and we've only hit the tip of the iceberg. I think I like the dual laptop idea. We will just have to curl up beside each other with two laptops and do our own thing (but with a time limit). I just really enjoy our talks, so I refuse to let those be effected by anything. I am going to grow old with this man, and enjoy all of the amazing things I discover about him.

We addicts tried a 12 step program but we got better therapy here on citi-data...we tried cold turkey but holding our laptops in our laps kept us warm in the winter so that didn't work.

So basically...if you can't beat them join us! Sanity is neither required or encouraged!
