Did you know... On average, a woman’s heart beats faster than a man’s heart?

I didn't know we did that to them. I'm sure we will get blamed for it.

I can't figure that one, physiologically speaking. A man has a higher metabolic rate, more muscle to maintain, more total body mass and is burning more calories, even at rest.

On the other hand - you guys make our little hearts go pitter-patter.

Size matters...In general, in the animal kingdom, the rate of the heart beat is somewhat proportional to body size. The larger the animal the slower the heart beat, the smaller the animal the faster the heart beat.
Since women in general are smaller than men, then they tend to fall into this pattern and have a faster heart beat.
Normal heart rates are between 70-80 BPM and there is no physical difference in the way the heart works in a male in comparison to a female.
