What to do if you encounter a lovesick, rampaging moose.
(Hey, you never know when this might be a handy thing to know.....)
If you happen to encounter a moose, normally it will flee. But if it's mating season and the moose decides to be aggressive.... well... let's just say it's not a good situation.
The good news is, moose don't have long memories. So stand behind a tree and don't call attention to yourself, and he could forget all about you. Just make sure you don't block his escape route (that will make him defensive). Oh, and keep as much space between you and the moose as possible.
If the moose begins licking its lips and walking towards you, that's not a good sign. Time for you to get out of there!
Tip of The Day features ideas I hear about--not always ones I've tried. They sound good to me in theory and who knows--some of them (hopefully most of them) may be brilliant. Anyway, the point of this thread is to start some fun conversations. By all means jump in and add jokes, comments, and even your own tips, if you'd like.

Believe it or not, when I was looking up this tip I found out more people in Alaska are injured by moose than by bears. Learn something new every day.

If I ever go to moose county I'm going to wait until it's either hunting season or go when it is not mating season. Moose burgers sound like a better option than me trying to run.

This is particularly effective if the tree looks more like a female moose than you do. Oh the tragedies of life. You become the looser in a moose, tree, human love triangle.

I'm not addressing anyone in particular but I have been wondering if Mrs Obama has told the President, "don't you dare appoint anyone the least bit attractive." just sayin

I just hope the moose's memory is short enough that he'll forget why he was looking at me in the first place.
