In Off Topic/Community Chat... I'm prone to read all the posts since I know most of the people posting. Not so much in other forums.

Depends on the title and how many pages it is. I usually don't jump into a thread that has 6-8-10 or more pages already posted but if it's a subject I want to weigh in on, I might.

I responded to the OP in a thread in the Fashion and Beauty Forum a couple of months ago that asked whether you like tattoos or not--without reading previous posts-- and stated that I don't like tattoos on women but could tolerate a couple on a man. Boy, did I ever get a fiery response from one particular female member who was posting on that thread, responding to every negative post as though it was a personal insult and defending tattoos on women (men, too) as "art". She took what I said personally and let me have it with both barrels. I was really surprised but didn't lose any sleep over it. So it can be risky to reply to an OP without reading all that has gone before.

I often read the whole thread at QOTD each day. My favorite posters are there and well, they just make me smile. Often.

Typically I read the first and last pages, rarely inbetween. And I rarely post on a thread that's more than 5 pages. (And 3 posts per thread is my limit.)

I've noticed that old/long threads tend to fizzle out and get "weird" after awhile. That's why I wish it was easier to start over with a fresh one. (However, that depends on the forum, too.)

Thanks, Sweetie Pie. I do remember getting a rep point for one of my replies to her but had forgotten who it was.
