Is University of Ottawa Intolerance for Free Speech indicative of a Problem in Canada as a Whole? (moving, permit)

I guess they just don't get that sophisticated Fox News highbrow humour of hers;
But the regular Fox News commentator drew outrage from some, including a 17-year-old Muslim student who asked her a question about her views on Muslims.
Coulter has said all terrorists are Muslims and has suggested all Muslims be barred from airlines and use flying carpets.
When the student said she didn't have a flying carpet, Coulter told her to "take a camel."
In an interview on CTV News Channel Tuesday, Coulter called that remark a joke.
For the intellectually disabled or illiterate here, the students prevented someone from speaking because they didn't like her point of view. Kind of scary that you actually need someone to explain this to you.

What is your definition of illiterate? Anybody who regulary don't read or watch FOX news?
It would be scary if they would let her speak. Sometimes, it's good and fully legitimate to be intolerant to intolerant people. For example, you don't have to be tolerant to killers, thieves or haters, do you?

Maybe you need a little polish on the definition of free speech. It cuts both ways. She is free to spout her drivel, and in return people are permitted to voice their displeasure about it.
Quid pro quo. They didn't prevent her, she/her handlers chose not to appear.
Kinda scary that you think only one point of view is acceptable free speech.

My definition of illiterate is when someone does not have the ability to read. The sentence "Anybody who regulary don't read or watch FOX news?" suggests this might be a possibility.
What does Fox News have to do with it? Are you suggesting this didn't happen or is this just an irrelevant cheap shot at a news outlet you don't like?
You either a) did not have the ability to read the linked article or b) you did not have the ability to understand the article that you read

What's truly scary is that you want to limit what those who disagree with you are allowed to say. What gives you this right? I sincerely hope your views are not held by most Canadians. [/quote]

Then is it OK to be intolerant to you, someone who is intolerant?

I'm sorry but comparing someone's speech which you disagree with or may even be inappropriate to killers or thieves is the height of intellectual absurdity.
As to haters, I am not sure to whom you are referring. What is a hater? Do people not have the right to hate??
Actually, hate verbalized falls under the limitation of speech, and can be a criminal offence in Canada.
There is no First Amendment in Canada. There is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and free speech is not carte blanche like it is in the US.
