She went to visit me in Colorado and we stopped by a Zales outlet just for the heck of it. She was seeing her boyfriend but was not engaged to him. Well, she found this engagement ring she liked ( about a grand or so ) then called him and said he had to pay for it and she was going to get it! LOL So she ( I mean he ) bought the ring.
Now she set up rules for the whole "you have to pay to find out the sex of the baby!
Rules are: You MUST donate money to the babies savings account that We have set up! All money must be in by the 30th. Remember to send your return address or email and we will send out the results on the 1st!!
She really thinks all her 200-odd Facebook friends care that much about the sex of her baby? She must have "the kind of deluded self-confidence that caused men like Ross Perot to run for president." (Sex and the City reference)
Unbelievable! I don't know what the heck people like this are thinking?! It's like someone who thinks they should get a shower for EACH child they have.
I think the big baby showers are tacky too. (Not as tacky as raffling off the sex, but still tacky!)
You know the ones held in banquet halls and fire halls with 200 of their close friends! LOL
I always send my regrets (without gift) when I get those invitations.
I will not go to a baby shower unless it's a very close friend or relative.
The mentality of inviting every acquaintance a person knows is all about greed.
Eh, I don't know. You can usually tell if they are fishing for gifts. I think a lot of times they invite everyone to be nice. I've seen wars over "why wasn't I/my daughter/my neighbors cousins brothers wife not invited".
My little sister has a 14 year old friend who got knocked up on purpose so i can't understand it either.
