Can't you parents see that he is just making these statements to get everyone all worked up? There's no point even responding.

Trust me, he's not getting me worked up. I find his comments quite humurous and nonsensical. I picture him sitting at home in a black turtleneck pondering "deep thoughts".

if i didnt think my kids would behave in restaurant, then i wouldnt take them. of course, there is a time and a place. i wouldnt take my kids to a high end restaurant, and i would generally only take them out at a time when generally only the very old, or the very young, eat.

complaining generally about the noise or behaviour of kids at a restaurant specifically designed with kids in mind is about as daft as going to a busy playground to meditate.

that said, taking kids out at inappropriate times to inappropriate places bothered me just as much before i was a parent as after i became one. and there are some examples of extreme indifference of parents to the very poor behaviour of their kids which is bothersome even in a kid-friendly environment.

I find you need to attach them to a long pole, if you want them to dust the chandeliers effectively.

I figured while they were just hanging there, they might as well dust.

Human beings in general are wildly contradictory. That is the human condition.
