Almost hate to admit this.... I was 19 when I got married. My husband is 4 years older than me. We waited 7 years before we had our son (now 17).

Twenty fourth wedding anniversary this May.

I have several friends who married at around that age! All still married too...My group of close girlfriends range in age from 40ish to about 55....we all know each other from having sons who played sports together. Of this group, I'm the one with the oldest child...We come from vastly different backgrounds culturally as well as socially. It's quite an interesting little group.

Our families are very similar. I'm 46 and hubby is 56. Our children are currently 18 and 20.

I always forget how old I am! When I was 30, people accused me of lying about my age because I had been saying I was 30 for three years.

We did the math and discovered that I had been saying I was 30 BEFORE I was actually 30!

Nothing to be ashamed of since you've been happily married for twenty four years!

Apparently I had a major judgment lapse today. I went grocery shopping forgetting that the Jets game is on later today (now maybe). Geez was it crowded and the pickins where slim. I just got veggies and some other things and left. I figured I'd go to Whole Foods a little later on since I like their fish selection. But Yikes it was so crowded.

I was 19 when I got married to my husband who was 20 at the time (3mths before 21st birthday). We had our first, and only child 8 yrs later, one month after my 29th birthday. I don't remember people in Ohio where I lived having kids super early though. Next month will be our 12yr anniversary- where has the time gone!?

I am glad to hear your husband is doing better Hopes

Congratulations! Isn't it amazing how quickly time flies! Hubby and I will be together for 18 years this Spring (counting the time we lived together). It really seems like yesterday.

Thanks! I'm thrilled! I was very worried that he might not fully recover! They say it's harder for older people. But I just gave him a bath a few hours ago and he wasn't in pain afterwards like he was the last time I gave him a bath. He's completely off the pain medication now. I really do believe he will fully recover in a few months!

I was 21 and my husband 25 when we got married. That's quite young for around here. Most people fit into one of two camps here. The first camp is you get pregnant at 16 and keep having babies but never get married. The other camp is that you don't get married until you are almost 30.

I feel like the whole country is becoming like this. Its funny because all the Swedish girls at school think its the weirdest thing ever. The average age to have a child in Sweden is 36 so most of them can't even fathom having a child at 16. They also can't figure out why us americans get offended by nudity. My teacher (from Sweden) once said "try as hard as you can but I am swedish and you will be unable to shock me" when we asked if it was ok to have topless pictures in our mood boards.
