I see a lot of people are mentioning "school". A 12 year old is in 6th or 7th grade. A 16 year old is in 10th or 11th grade. Highly unlikely they're in school together.

I still say OP and spouse should go to the boy's house, speak with the parents. If it doesn't stop, get the authorities involved.

I didn't read this whole thread, but I am the father of a 12 year old girl.

If a 16 year old boy were even in the same VICINITY as my daughter with some sort of "romantic" intention, I'd be all over that.

A 16 year old going for a 12 year old? Are some of you people nuts to think that this is even close to normal? That's basically a 10th grader and a 6th grader. This isn't some silly, innocent little misunderstanding or hapless puppy love. That boy has no idea what boundaries mean, and in more than one way.

My advice to the OP-Go see that boy's parents and tell them in no uncertain terms that if he even looks are your daughter cross-eyed, that you're going to the police.

I am shaking my head at this and imagining my daughter being approached by a 16 year old...and heck my daughter is 5'9" and looks older, and I STILL wouldn't put up with anything CLOSE to this.

Yeah, I hope she wasn't making stuff up. I used to post on another forum, and trolls would always come up there and post made up stories, especially relationship ones.

That's really awful if this was fake---there are a lot of people here who were worried about this 12 YO girl, too. What is a troll anyway?

1)Contact law enforcement! Since this is basically sexual harrassment a restraining order should not be difficult to obtain.

2) Have an attorney send a letter to the parents telling them to keep their son away from your daughter and your family until the restraining order is issued.

3) Get your daughter enrolled in self-defense classes ASAP. She should not be walking places alone with this possible sexual predator stalking her.

Why would someone make up a story like this? Someone would need quite the imagination to do that.

But it would be nice if the OP posted again.

Not odd at all. Happens enough around here. Someone conjures up some situation that is bound to result in a heated discussion, throws it out here and sits back to watch the fireworks. They definitely scored with this thread.

I'd definitely talk to the parents first and asap.

Not to mention that without proof of actual stalking they wouldn't do anything.
