My daughter is 9 months old and still has no teeth. Should I be worried?

I don't think so. Our 16 month old didn't have any teeth until about 11 months, and now she has a ton!!!!! I just did a search on this topic and see that some babies don't have any until their first birthday!

Default No need to worry...

Some kids don't get their first until they are 12-15 months.

Not at all - this is within the realm of "normal."

Yeah, i wouldn't worry. All babies are different. Now, if she's 2 & doesn't have any, then I'd worry. My son is 18 months & has about 8 on top & still only 2 on the bottom...& those were his first 2! I'm hoping more bottom ones come in soon to balance out the look! hehe

MsB23, our 16 month old, has a mouthful...ON THE TOP. She only has her bottom front two and two way in the back.....so she has that same look

LoL...so it's not just me! Yay! I asked my pediatrician, & she said that there's really no rhyme or reason to which teeth come in when...she said that she's seen babies that get the teeth on either side of the front 2 first & the babies end up looking like little vampires! I'm glad my son's didn't come in that way...cuz I'd never be able to get a proper picture of it! hehe

Like others said it is still in the realm of normal so I wouldn't worry. But if you want to make sure most dentists will do a complimentary infant exam for you. They would be able to tell you if it's normal for your daughter or not and ease your worry.

I found a lot of comfort in 'What to Expect When You're Expecting', and the subsequent books for different early developmental stages. Check them out on Amazon.com
What to Expect the First Year
What to Expect the Toddler Years
They helped me in remaining calm but also introduced me to the next stages and that was exciting.
When our daughter started to gnaw on hands and especially her Daddy's thumb, I wrapped a dampened washcloth around a large ice cube, tying it with a hair band that didn't have the metal joining thing. So while I held or cuddled with her, she could gnaw and massage her gums. If you try this keep it supervised for fear of choking.
Congratulations and I hope all the best for you and your little person!
