Sorry, Ohiogirl. Grandma and the rest of you are all in my prayers.
I had my Mother's Day outing last night. We went to one of those tremendously hokey cowboy restaurants where they serve everything on tin plates and you get beans whether you want them or not. We had a great time. It's up on a hill and we had a table by the window so we could see the lights for miles and miles. Church this morning and now just taking it easy the rest of the day.
OMG I love Hokey restaurants. There's a russian restaurant here that is literally decorated like the inside of a house. Like if you had old russian grandparents in a country house, this is what it would look like. However it's gotten really trendy. If you tell them it's your birthday they play a tambourine and sing you russian birthday song.
Finster aren't you coming out here? You should try this place!
Tried going out for breakfast this morning- we went to four different cafe style places and all had a 45+ minute wait. We ended up coming home around 11:30 and having a big, homestyle brunch. Yum!
My kids got me an Amazon Kindle- I can't wait to start reading with it!
Update: My grandma is doing a bit better. She opened her eyes and seems to recognize people now. She can move her arm and leg a bit too. However the left side of her face is still paralyzed.
In brighter news, I decided to take the apartment.
Ohiogirl, thanks for the update on your grandmother. Please keep us posted.
And good news on the apartment. How exciting! I know as much about living in NYC as I do about living in Lima, Peru. I have to tell you I enjoy reading about it through your eyes. Please give us whatever details you feel comfortable with in sharing. I love that we have you here. Our very own Working Girl in the Big City. (BTW I want to eat at that restaurant!)
Wondering what happened to spring? It was 86 here yesterday and probably right around the same today. Enjoyed a nice breakfast, the lawn is mowed and the pond is up and running. DD and I went to an afternoon movie and she is getting ready tpo head back...nice weekend all in all.
