Morning all.

PSR: Try Western Dental. Their dentists are decent, the prices fairly low, and they have payment plans.

All of this dentist talk is timely. I called the dentist this morning to cancel my son's appointment for this afternoon because he's sick and they scheduled me in his place. (I was very impressed with this dentist when my son went last month.)

So I get to have fun for two hours at the new dentist's office this afternoon. Apparently, the dentist will spend an hour with me prior to my time with the hygenist. That's how he handles new patients---spends an hour doing the dental exam and talking about goals and coming up with a game plan. I might splurge and consider whitening. I'm at that age. We'll see. Depends.

He's doing good. He's a little restless today, just a little, but walking fine.

I think his ears might be infected again. He has an appointment at 2pm today.

Back from the vet. What a difference a second opinion makes!

I asked to see a different vet at the practice because I didn't like the one we were seeing. I'm sure she's a competent vet, but I didn't like her personality.

The last vet quoted over $800 to have the tumor on his head removed. (Won't go into details but it's a mess! Not like his other lumps.)

This vet will do it for $200. And she's not pushing for it to be done, but wants us to try a new treatment at home first.

Also, this vet appointment was only $45, the last two were $160 and $120.

I think she looked at his chart and realized we were being ripped off. Not to mention, she CLEARLY loves animals.

I had a hard time committing over $800 to remove a tumor from a dog that might need put to sleep at any moment. $200 I can do. No problem.

Plus, she's not putting him under general anethesia, which is a huge risk for an old dog, but a twilight type thing that doesn't change breathing, etc.

Yeah, I do too.

I need to find something called bagbalm. It's used on cow utters. She says they heal all sorts of things with bagbalm.

Peroxide, neosporin, bagbalm, and those little butterly stitch bandages.

The last vet put him on oral antibiotics and told us not to touch it. I won't go into gross details but that did not work.

I use Bag Balm! Makes your hands and feet soft. I also use it on some skin irritations and problems. Wondrous stuff but stinky. It's very Amish. Wholesome and natural!

It's very curious how DH likes to start projects on a Sunday before he goes out of town, and then guess who has to finish them? He is a smart bloke.

I swear all of our men-folk are related. My DH pruned a tree on a Sunday a couple of weekends ago. Then left for L.A. I walked out Monday morning and saw that he'd tossed all the branches over the gate. I sent him an email asking if he was saving the branches for a special occasion.

I give him a break because he's getting up there and I hear his knees creeking but, pul-eeze.
