I am noticing that the poster who dredged up the old spanking threads hasn't been back to join in the conversation

Yes and what happened to that crazy thread about pedophiles???? Some threads that people come up with have me shaking my head. I was trying to look up the OP's posting history but everything vanished.

Kobber good to see you! Hope all is well with you and yours.

Zimbo I loved the Tom Hanks Toddler and Tiaras parody!!

I was checking in on the NJ forum, since a lot of my family is there. Somebody wrote that the lines at the gas stations in the shore area were already a block long.

Just checking in real quick before bed. Feelin' the love all around! You guys really are the best

Please be safe everyone in "the zone".

I'm off to bed. I'm having some back issues. I'm hoping I'm more mobile tomorrow because this is getting old. Don't even know what I did.

Yuk, sorry Coop! I woke up this morning with a sore foot for no good reason. I must have been kicking someone in my dreams, but they probably deserved it! I suspect it's the bodyrot setting in. As my son keeps on reminding me I was born "back in the 1900's". Twerp!

Good morning, CDMWR!

Hoping Kobber and Coop are feeling better, and Zim finds her steel-toed boots. The rest of y'all, stay safe, in or out of the hurricane zone.

Me...I'm beginning to remember why we started homeschooling. Only took a week. <sigh>

Good Morning All You Beautiful CDMWR!

How are we this morning?

I hope all our east-coasters are doing okay. Everyone stocked up and ready?

Aconite - sorry to hear that. What's going on?

Good morning, MWR.

Hope everyone's aches and pains have gone.

Eek, I have to profess I'm a bit nervous about Madame Irene. We're not going to have the center over us, but it does look like we're going to take a direct hit from the outer bands. We're under a hurricane warning now. Got to go bring all the lawn furniture and the umbrella in, I'm going to get all my plants that are in pots and bring them in - go to the store and get batteries and all that other stuff, and a car charger for the iPad - which might just end up being the best thing ever if the power goes out, which is looking quite likely. Aaargh I just restocked my freezer after losing all our food when the fridge went out a couple of weeks ago. I'm worried our basement is going to flood, so I'm going to have to put all the stuff up off the floor.

When we were living in Big Bear we had 5 feet of snow in one night and the power went out for 5 days - there was a UPS truck stuck on our street and we couldn't get out and go anywhere either. That was fun! And it was cold too. So we ended up burning old clothes in our fireplace when we ran out of wood. Don't fancy going through that again, although we're not isolated up on a mountainside this time, at least we'll have neighbors and stuff.

Of course it could all just fizzle out and not be much of an event, but it doesn't look like it.

It does seem like it's going to be a scary storm. There's not much to do now but hurry up and wait. Every time we lose power we vow to go out ASAP and buy a generator. Of course we never do, but it's a nice idea. We have a car battery charger, and it works as a mini generator for a few hours.

Keep safe!
