Great idea for our next family field trip-the post office.

One day daughter asked why mail lady brought me so much trash. Most of it we put in the recycling bin without even opening it and the rest I complain about- bills.

Sounds like you have a really great mail carrier!

I would use this as a learning opportunity. Take a trip down to the post office and let her look around. Let her look at all the commemorative stamps and choose a book she'd like. They usually have some cute kid-oriented stamps like cartoon characters. She can practice going to the blue mailbox to send them and everything.

Totally agree. No Kudzo's mail carrier sounds great.

Mine hates the world. If anyone will go postal, it's my mail carrier. He is clearly held together by a thin thread of sanity.

Mine rocks.

We once had a long discussion about Paramehansa Yogandana. An Indian yogi who taught meditation. Letter carrier was shocked I knew who he was. I was shocked the letter carrier knew who he was.

He's friendly, brings our packages right to the door and waves whenever I see him. Love my letter carrier. I'm pretty sure he'd have delivered Little Miss No Kudzu's notes. (He also wears a cowboy hat, has a droopy moustache and looks like he's going to hold up the 3:10 out of Yuma. )

Hah - I'm shocked that you know who he was too! Small world. I studied siddha yoga for awhile.

On topic: my letter carrier rocks.

Be thankful for a postal worker who is friendly to your kid.

Did I see a movie once called pay in forward. Sounds a bit like that.

Maybe you could buy some stamps and send some letters further afield. Like to the grand parents.

I think it's cute. Let it be like it is.

Once she is older she will use stamps.

Great idea! And honestly, even though I pay my bills online, I always keep stamps around. I mail birthday cards, thank you notes, etc. In this age of "e" everything, I think a lot of people still enjoy getting meaningful things in the mail.
