Yeah, right! Let's do what David Harmer says and return to the education system of early America. That's the system where high school was a luxury offered only to the elite. That's the system where minorities and the poor had very little access to any education. Children with disabilities were institutionalized or kept in back rooms with almost no access to education. Women were marginalized and also uneducated unless they happened to have fathers who were progressive.

It is difficult to quantify literacy in those days since the census did not take data on literacy until 1850 and even then, the only person they were interested in was the head of the household.

To be honest, I'm against gender diversity. It could create some bigotry and tension.
