Now I am going to sell my old blackberry so I can replace my android. (The one I dropped two weeks ago and the screen shattered and keeps chipping off glass.)
Zim, your trip sounds awesome. I have a friend who did 3 weeks in So. Africa last summer, and was accompanied by an armed guard from the time she left the airport. She was on a mission trip though, and ventured into some poverty stricken areas. She did say the people were wonderful. Even the poorest of the poor wanted to share their food.
Take notes for your book. I picked up the new Alexandra Fuller book this weekend. I'll think of you while I read it.
Cape Town was home for me for many years, but my street-smarts are a bit rusty. Crime definitely is a huge problem, but sadly it is not limited to certain areas, so you really do have to have your wits about you. People in SA think I sound American now (people here don't think so ), so sadly that makes one more of a target.
