I don't know if you guys have ever played the game "Apples to Apples" before, but it is hilarious. Everyone has some cards with nouns on them, and a judge puts down an adjective. Each person puts down one of their cards to match the adjective, and the judge picks the best card.
Last night my friends and I discovered a card that had "a plumber's buttcrack" on it. We found that it went quite well with cards like "gooey," "disturbing," "scary," "smelly", etc.
Middle daughter is getting that one. Already wrapped and under the tree!
Some Christmas songs from my misspent youth. Back in the day Noddy Holder was considered so baddass, he looks very respectable compared to today's baddass. How times change.
I have sick child at home Day 2, which has put a huge damper on my (lack of) Christmas preparedness. My own fault, as I left everything till the last minute.
Priority #1 is I am in charge of her class party tomorrow, and I need to buy the teacher gifts from the class for the 3 classroom teachers. I'm never exactly sure of the protocol for which teachers one should buy gifts for, isn't it confusing? I buy the bus driver, and 2 of the favorite past teachers, but generally don't buy music, PE, art, media teachers anything. Do you? It gets awfully spendy!

I have trouble figuring that out every year! This is the first year I thought of the bus driver. I baked cookies for their teachers and the bus driver. I didn't do anything for their art, music, etc teachers. I left cards for the principal and VP. I'm not one to go overboard on stuff like that. I could be wrong but I figure a card is appreciated as much as a gift. Not that I don't appreciate the teachers and staff, but I never got gifts when I was working You're still in school? We've been out since Thursday.
Cookies is a good idea. I brought back some very small gifts from my trip, and will be giving those.
We had calendar chaos last year, and they changed the dates about 3 times. We end this Thursday, and Friday is a furlough day.
Tomorrow is our last day because Thursday is a Furlough day.
I only got 1 present for DD's official teacher. She also has a Math teacher, art, music, PE, and many more, but I am only doing for her official teacher for 2 reasons. By the time I buy for all 485 of her teachers I am going to have to take out a second mortgage. The other one is that I am afraid that I will forget teacher #486 and will feel really bad. So, I just got the main teacher a Swarovski Pen (super good deal) and I am done.
DD has 3 official classroom teachers, and that is not the music, art, etc. teachers. DS has 2 official teachers, but they are doing a pre-middle school rotation this year, so he also has 3 other teachers. So that is 8 teachers the kids have on a daily basis. Much moola!
