How far away is that from you? Would it be worth the trip if it's possible to mail in payments?

No idea. Must be redirecting them over our neighborhood due to weather elsewhere.

I'm going to put my sheets in the laundry now that coop gave me inspiration on where to start.

this is good to know. I've never used layaway in my life, but our refrigerator is having multiple issues right now...

I've never played angry birds either. I'm afraid of the addiction.

Sears also started layaway back in 2008, but not for large appliances.

Apparently you can layaway online for Sears and Kmart too, but items available for layaway online are limited.

And you need to go to a brick and mortar Kmart store for large appliance layaway. Call ahead to make sure it's not regional before driving there if it's far away.

Have any of you seen this? I thought it was a very dignified way of handling a potentially awkward time. Kudos to them.

I haven't heard of stores doing layaways in years. I guess during the boom, everyone just used credit cards.

It's interesting how these stores compete.

Target never had lawaway.
So Walmart decided to stop layaway.
Since Target and Walmart didn't have layaway, Sears stopped Kmart's layaway after taking over.

Then Kmart started layaway again.
Since Sears was surprised by the overwhelming response to Kmart layaway, Sears started layaway in 2008 for Sears.
Now Walmart starts layaway.

You're absolutely right that it's the result of people having less access to credit.

I haven't used layaway for small items in decades, but I knew many parents who relied on layaway to do their Christmas shoppping each year.

When I heard that Kmart allows layaway for large appliances, I tucked that into the back of my mind as a piece of useful information for the future.

I've put furniture on layaway in the past so I'd definitely layaway appliances.

PROGRESS! Sheets are in the washer. Finally! My day is just starting at 2:30pm. How pathetic is that? I guess it's not as pathetic as the days I don't get anything started!

I need to find roommates asap.
I wanna move out by the start of October.

I found some apartments in a neighboring town its $1,050 for a 3 bedroom, when split 3 ways it's only 350 per person a month, which is highly doable with the pay I have. It's a nice huge apartment and everything.

I rather not roommate with total strangers but then again all my friends are roommated up and I have no one.

Anyone have any ideas??
