I used to be mystified as to why anyone would get married if they didn't want children. To me, having children was the point of getting married and couldn't see why someone would want to get married if they didn't plan to have a family. Not so much now--I'm older, and I know a few married couples who are childfree by choice yet chose to marry, and at this age, I'm smart enough to know their choice is none of my business.

No, I don't automatically think they don't like kids.

No, I was never jealous of their free time. I was frequently jealous of the free time of mothers who didn't have to work full-time, though. But, I got over that, too.

I honestly don't think about couples without children any more than I think about couples with children. Which is to say, I don't. *shrugs*

1. I can honestly say that couples without children never cross my mind as a group. I know some couples that do not have children. I think of them individually but not as a group. I have lots of other things to worry about besides people who do not have children.

2. No I do not automatically assume people without kids do not like kids. There are lots of reasons besides not liking kids to remain childless.

3. I am not jealous of other people. It is a waste of time and energy.

1. I think they made choices that work for their lives.

2. No.

3. No. I made choices that work for my life.

The oddest thing is the question about "free time." Why would someone assume that people without kids have more or less "free time" than someone with kids? I know a couple without kids and they have less free time than a couple I know with five kids...

This. And when I see a couple in public I never, ever wonder about their having children or not.

I don't think anything of it, as it is not my place to put any thought into it

It might be the first date night they've had all year.

What do you think of couples without children?

Selfish bastards. What with this under population issue you think people would think of more than just themselves.

Do you automatically think they don't like kids?

Only if they live in gingerbread houses.

Are you jealous of their free time?

Why should I? I have a personal chef, maid and assistant I have plenty of free time. Though my 5 year old personal assistant forgets to book my appointments from time to time.
