Yes I would. If was that worried about it, I'd ask to be a chaperone. If the chaperone spots were filled and I was terribly worried, I'd meet the class there! I will agree though, it does seem odd that they'd book so far away when there are places nearby. Perhaps they're already booked for the time your child's class wanted to go?
I am still confused, sorry. If it's such a minor thing (I agree), why can't your kid go? The other kids are going regardless, so what is gained by not going?
Because she feels it's a waste of time. I know where she is coming from. Go through all that rigmarole for a half day trip when a good portion of it will be spent on a bus? Meh. I'd keep the kid home already.
I'm surprised that so many on this thread have never made a decision to not doing something AND it not being that big of an issue; just something you decide against.
It seems to be a control issue, really. That's the only thing I can think of. "I think it's idiotic planning and my child will NOT participate, so nanabooboo"!
Really?
So if one disagrees with an event or situation and choose not to participate they have control issues?

I'm with you! The deciding factor for me, would be whether or not my CHILD wanted to go, even though he/she would be riding the bus for a while. I guess one of the things that peaked my curiosity was this...
The farm is 52 mi. away, on a busy highway. Where the hell is this, Mayberry RFD? It takes 3 hours to drive 52 miles!? Okay class, I have a story problem for you! If a bus travels 52 miles in 3 hours, how fast is this bus traveling? Answer: The bus would be traveling at approximately 17.3333333.... miles per hour!
On a busy highway, isn't the speed limit generally (at least) 55 mph? Okay now class, let's do the math, shall we? If the bus travels 52 miles at a speed of 55 mph., how long will it take the bus to reach its destination? Answer: 0.9454545.... or 0.95 hrs. That's right class, less than 1 hour! (57 min)

About an hour each way, which is what I said. *shrug* One hour and 45 minutes at the destination and two hours travel time. Not worth the kid's time, IMO.

I really don't understand that thought. What else would the kids be doing? It's not like they're giving up a paycheck for this trip. The moms get almost 4 hours of time to themselves, as opposed to the usual kindergarten day of about 2 1/2 hours.

I just feel like it isn't worth the time and effort to go for such a short period of time. *shrug*
You've spent more time posting about it than the kid would have spent on the bus!
LOL If I spent as much time on productive things as I do posting, I'd be a very productive person!
