What is wrong with freezing it? I did that all the time. Even the lll website says it's ok to freeze.

The jury is out on shaking it, but once it's warmed up a bit, you shouldn't need to shake it too vigorously.
You shake it to mix the "cream" into the milk. What could be wrong with shaking it?

Yes, the bottle warmer is good as long as it doesn't get too hot.

Sorry, meant to write re-frozen.

It's tempting you heat up a bottle, the baby doean't want it, and you don't want to discard it.

Temperature matters. Too hot can kill cells and denature proteins. Freezing will also kill some of the cells. This is why fresh is always better than frozen if you have a choice. It doesn't mean that frozen milk is no good, it is just less good than fresh. Shaking can also denature proteins.

Not true.

According to CDC: Breastfeeding: Diseases and Conditions: HIV and AIDS | DNPAO | CDC

Are special precautions needed for handling breast milk?

No special precautions exist for handling expressed human milk, nor does the milk require special labeling. It is not considered a biohazard. The Universal Precautions to prevent the transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis B virus, and other bloodborne pathogens do not apply to human milk.

LOL.... wow, glad to hear THAT! When my daughter was in the NICU, many, many years ago, I was pumping off and freezing breast milk, which I would then transport, in a cooler, to the NICU.
