INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indiana woman who saved her two children by binding them together with a blanket and shielding them with her body as a tornado ripped apart their house lost parts of both her legs, which were crushed by the falling debris, her husband says.
Stephanie Decker, a 36-year-old sleep specialist, lost one leg above the knee and the other above the ankle, her husband said Monday. She was in serious but stable condition at a Kentucky hospital. The couple's 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter survived Friday's storm unscathed.

Wow, a lot of amazing stories of love coming out of such tragedy. I really feel for all, some really wonderful people coming together to help their families and neighbors during such a trying time. So heart wrenching, as well as inspiring. Thank you for posting such an touching story. I wish their family well.
She is strong and brave. I don't know if I would have survived and been as tough as she has been. I've been hearing about her since the storms in our area on 03/02. The whole story is amazing. I heard she had been very athletic and she wants to get back to working out as soon as possible. God bless her. I am so happy there are more moms out there who would do something like this for their children than all those deadbeats we always hear about!
