You're right, I beg your pardon. The word we all mean is whup.

Thank you, I'm not crazy...reading the thread title I had a mental image of parents gathered around a kid just clapping and going nuts.

"YAH, Bobby! You spill that perfume!! You spill it good, son! Man, look at that throwing arm!"

There are many forms of discipline besides corporal punishment.

I never hit my kids. They turned out to be kind, productive, law abiding members of society. There is no reason to hit someone smaller than you, especially not those whose depend on you for their well being.

This is totally your opinion and I could respect this although my view obviously differs. I can not say children which are not spanked turn out better or more kind etc etc just as I can not say those are turn out better. I know OF many from both sides! Note, each produced Great people as well plenty Nut Jobs. So to insinuate your child is Law abiding etc etc because he was not Spqnked holds very little weight. I am a product of spankings I too hold with a clear record,Law abiding, Masters Degree, and serve my country proud as a Unite d States Marine; OHH RAHH! I suppose my father believes A** Wh**ping(s) served me well as I am a Success.

Round and round the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the weasel. That's what these conversations feel like to me.

Yeah. Is there some regulation that says CD has to have another 'spanking/whooping/hitting/etc' thread started every week?

It's all been said. Multiple times.
