Can't do that. It can crack and damage teeth. Zimbochick is spot on. What does his dentist say?

Haven't talked to him yet. Started yesterday, and we already made an appointment. I'm mainly looking (in vain, I would guess) for advice to maybe get him to stop!

Asleep or awake? If it's while asleep, not too much you can do until they are older.

However if while awake it's likely that he either likes the sound or how it feels, possibly due to teething. Giving him something to chew on when you see him start, whether a snack or meal or cold wash cloth, may distract him from the noise but still allow him to do the 'grinding' in a productive way. Or simply distract him so that his attention is diverted to something you want him to do instead.

That's a good idea. He does it when he's awake (Hopefully that's all).

BTW, I didn't tell you guys. We asked the lady who answered the phone at the dentist's office if this could do any harm. Her answer was a very quick "No"

Is he getting his 2 year molars? My kids always grind for a few days when they get new teeth in their mouth.
