Heck yes they can be dangerous! Stepping on the little tiny ones with bare feet is the pits. I think it goes without saying that Legos should not be inserted in the nose.

Some kids will put anything and everything up their nose. Legos, pearls, rocks, bugs.

We had a neighbor with a two-year old who was notorious for what he could put up his nose. As soon as I looked out and saw her carrying him up our driveway I got out the tweezers. I don't know what she did when we weren't home.

And beans. If you think about it too much everything can be a potential danger.
I was in the ER with one of mine and a lady brought her toddler in with something stuck in its nose. The nurse at the check it station gave her a tissue and the child blew, out it came. Im surprised they didnt charge her for it.

And buttons, and safety pins, and paper clips, and polly pockets shoes, and the list goes on.

My youngest brother stuck chewed bubble gum up his nose when he was about 2. Fortunately my mom saw it happen (but could not stop him in time) and made him blow until it came out. He was one bad boy for sticking things up there. He was smart enough to tell someone right away though... never had him in the hospital for such. (He was a climber who ended up in ER more times for stitches in his head than any kid I have ever known!)

I agree that Legos are more of danger when stepped on. I am glad those years are long gone.

I saved massive amounts of legos from our first set of kids who are now 28 and 31 and now our second set of kids aged 10 are very popular with all the kids cause we have several large boxes of legos complete with sheets of possible structures to build. They and their older siblings spend hours on end building legos and in two weeks the girls will be going to lego engineer class at our local arts center. They are so excited. Never had any legos up the nose with 4 kids glad to say.
