Nope. Both do at present (they are wee ones yet), but if they choose not to later on that's fine. Our only rule is going to be that after making a commitment to a team, they have to see it through to the end of the season. Both enjoy the sports they've tried so far.
My children do one sport/physical activity because they said "yes, they would like to do X" but also because they have very few other outlets for physical activity - so yes, I kind of put them in it.
They are not passionate about it, but they go along with it.
They are 7 and 4 and I just want them running/moving a bit - given they both lean towards being physically inactive.
I would never EVER insist on competitive sports though.
If they had the drive and the talent, I would agree, but they have neither, so I don't need to worry about it.
My daughter is homeschooled and I do require her to exercise for an hour every day. We ride bikes when the weather is good. When it rains, she has a yoga dvd. I don't know if she enjoys it or not, I haven't asked.
