That's a story I'll never forget. I followed it closely, in between contractions, while in labor with my third child.

Maybe the toddler fell on the flower pot covering the well opening and then toppled into it?

Quote:
McClure is unable to remember how she fell into an eight-inch abandoned well covered by a flower pot in her backyard. The fact Jessica has no memory of the event may be ironic -- because many of her rescuers and residents said they would never be able to forget it.

I was 7 years old when that happened and I still remember that. I'm so glad that she was able to be rescued!

I cannot believe it was 20 years ago, either. How sad for the man that saved her to have committed suicide.

Why all the media coverage of the anniversary? I mean, I guess its an anniversary, but...
It seemed overdone, considering none of the family members wanted or participated in the coverage.
