An author named Lawrence Otis Graham, often talks about the family organization called "Jack and Jill". He mentions the organization in at least 2 of his books, but the books don't always put Jack and Jill in such a great light...There are times when Graham depicts Jack and Jill as being perfectly normal, like Mocha Moms... However there are times when he admits practices of colorism, and other extreme forms of exclusivity.
Both of Grahams books, where he talks in great detail about Jack and Jill, came out in the 90's... I guess Im wondering if what he said was the whole truth. Were all Jack and Jill chapters run this way? And more importantly, are things still the same? How did being apart of the organization benefit to your life? What's you/ your child's experience been like, as a member of Jack and Jill?
