" Blanket" is one of Michael Jackson's children.

Other weird names

The actor River Phoenix , broadcaster Stone Phillips - nothing like naming people people after topographical features

Entertainer Frank Zappa who named one of his kids Moon Unit . Moon Unit has a sibling named Dweezil.
( ps- Moon Unit is a girl)

Declan is an old Irish name, one of those names who popularity comes in cycles.

I remember Moon Unit and Dweezil. They must be in their 40s by now! And River Phoenix has been dead for almost 20 years. There's a woman at work named "Ocean".

I didn't know Declan was an old Irish name. Never heard of it before it became trendy recently--someone told me it was a character on a TV show. At least it's a break from the Braydon/Jaydon/Haydon thing.

Sahara? It's a desert, not a name.
Declan reminds me of (De Clan).

I like Declan. It is Elvis Costello's real first name. It is VERY Irish. Just like in the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" where everyone's kids were names Athena, Diane and Nik, in Irish families it is Aidan, Liam and Declan

Huh. Now I am not one to go yammering about my kids' names, but if you said that to me I guess I would conclude you were a jerk.

They are. I know someone who knows Frank's family very well. They're all well-adjusted, creative, successful and live their lives. Frank's widow controls his estate and has done VERY well.

I was slightly acquainted with a family that named its kids things like Sunshine, Rainbow, Brook, Mountain, Valley, and so on. Probably needless to say, the parents were freeze-dried hippies. Sunshine turned out very ell - no idea what her now-grown siblings are doing. The family lived in a town which was something of a Mecca for creative sorts, which probably made life a lot easier on the kids.

I realize that Declan is becoming a more popular name but I just hope it doesn't become as popular and trendy as the whole aiden/brayden/jaden/caden my mommy and daddy are f-ing idiots that like trendy names phenomenon.

We chose the name at a time when the name was not very popular. We just really liked the naem and are irish so it seemd logical.

We named our daughter Paige.

Here's another dumb stripper name........... Amber

You gotta stop this. I mean, I guess you don't care that you are gonna p*ss off people when you post how stupid you think their name is.

One person's stripper is another person's sister. Or both. Who cares?

I don't think you need to to worry about Declan being too trendy. It's just special enough.
