I thought we could use a thread to post some of the funny things we hear our kids say:
Last night after brushing my sons teeth he exclaimed"I can't believe how big the earth is!" All I could do was smile and agree that oh yes it is big! Isn't it?

My son doesn't talk much yet, but I look forward to these 'kid-isms' immensely in the future!

In the meantime, a story from my past.....

When I worked in a therapeutic preschool, I once sneezed and was subsequently asked by a 4 year old if I was sick.
I told her I was not, I just had allergies.
She asked me what 'allergies' were, but before I could answer, another boy chimed in:
"That's Spanish for sneezes".

Anybody ancient enough to remember Art Linkletter's House Party and Kids Say the Darndest Things? Those were some really funny segments and I doubt very many were saved on tape. The look on his face when a kid came up with something a bit risque was hilarious!

I don't remember Art... but I remember the revival Bill Cosby did some years later!

Well I'd never seen it so thanks for sharing! I wish I could find the pic I had from years ago when my now 15 year old son was a toddler. He hated the feel of grass under his feet. So, plopping him down in the grass (standing) basically immobilized him and he'd refuse to move. Somewhere I have a pic of him standing, crying, in the grass.. you'd think we'd have put him down in a field of rattlesnakes! Nope, just suburban lawn.

I am having a terrible time remembering the funny things my kids have said over the years. It makes me sad. Here's one though:

My son (now 21) was about four years old. He'd been spending time with his uncle (my brother) who always listened to the "smooth jazz" radio station in the car and at home. One day he was with me and I had a Nine Inch Nails CD playing. From the back seat he pipes up, all excited, "Mommy, is this smooth jazz?"

I have a strange child. He is very intelligent, has ADHD and SID, some anxiety issues, and a wonderful sense of humor.
He says funny things all the time.

This morning when I was helping him get ready for school and asking him some questions, he interrupted me. I corrected him for interrupting and he said, "But my brain calculates the probability of what you're going to say next."
